War in Ukraine

And again, the Russians outside of their behavior in Germany are no better or worse than any other army. I could just as easily post atrocities done the the US, Britain and France as a counter to your list, but then you would accuse me of whataboutism.

So you agree that if Ukraine surrenders they will be subject to oppression by the Russians and the Russians have a long and documented history of brutality towards the vanquished?

Whether our record is any better or not is immaterial to the discussion.

I think the only people that need to really be shaking in their boots are those A3OB mfers. Outside of that, the regular Ukrainians will be fine.

Russian history says otherwise. Tigers don't change their stripes.
Using that logic, and since you had to go back to the days of the Romanovs, would it be outlandish for someone to think that the US might resort to using nukes or engaging in genocide?

Russian history outside of a one off period when they were run by one of the top 5 murderers of all time says they are no better or worse than anyone else.

I deliberately did not include one single link of Russian war atrocities committed during the USSR time. All 4 links were of pre and post USSR examples of Russian barbarity.

And again we are not discussing anyone else here, just what the Ukrainians can expect if they surrender to the Russians.

Irrelevant to this particular discussion but if I concede that we are just as barbaric will it end the whataboutisms?

Oh yeah... whataboutism...

I can't simply point out the flaw in your logic by putting two similar situations side by side.

The regular Ukrainians will be fine. A3OB is an entirely different issue.

All I am saying is that the Russians are no better or worse than any other army. Even if you include the allegations that you posted, there are examples of other Western armies doing the same or worse, yet you are not so quick to label them so harshly.

Ok, the Ukrainians shouldn’t surrender to to us either. All better?

You are a walking propaganda machine. School books in German, lol. Good grief.

Imagine saying Isolationism is a failed policy with our track record since Vietnam. My 13 year old daughter has better critical thinking skills than you. Your confident stupidity isn't something to be proud of.

Your lack of historical knowledge is stunning.

Had the Germans discovered the atom bomb before us, yes, Hitler would have held that over the heads of the entire world.

Impressed you and your husband adopted. Kudos!

There is literally zero chance germany was a threat to America after the japanese attacked. Now had they coordinated, before we woke up, sure. but after, no chance in hades. They couldnt get across 40 miles of water, how were they going to handle 3,000 miles?

This.

German Atomic Bomb Project

Germany began its secret program, called Uranverein, or “uranium club,” in April 1939, just months after German scientists Otto Hahn and Fritz Strassmann had inadvertently discovered fission. Germany had a significant head start over the Manhattan Project as well as some of the best scientists, a strong industrial base, sufficient materials, and the interest of its military officers. Nevertheless, the reaction of Heisenberg illustrates just how far the German program came from actually developing a nuclear weapon.

There's a six part series out there called The Heavy Water War about this. I saw it a couple of years ago. You might be able find it streaming somewhere. It was pretty good.
