War in Ukraine

Just watching Ukraine flail around in the Donbas. Nothing new to really talk about. I did enjoy the W Bush prank call. Bush says it was always the plan to get Ukraine into NATO. He must be a Putin propagandist too.
That fact that Ukraine is there to "flail around" is astounding in itself. In February I wasn't giving them any chance of surviving a Russian invasion. I don't doubt that Bush, Obama and Biden would have been happy to see Ukraine as a member of NATO. But that is no excuse for Russia to invade and murder their citizens. Do you think it would be OK for Russia to do the same to Finland today?

Zelensky Says If Ukraine Falls, American Lives Will Be At Risk | ZeroHedge

"If we fall, if we don't hold the line, Russia will proceed, attacking the Baltic states — Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia" and smaller states to follow, resulting in NATO's Article 5 being invoked, which would see American troops sent to the region to face Russia directly.

"The US military will have to go to Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, according to the fifth article, and they will have to fight there and die there," Zelensky emphasized in the interview.

You mean if Finland tells Russia to go **** itself Putin will be forced to invade and thus open up a second campaign on a second front?

That’s a bold strategy, Cotton.
Well technically it would turn into one huge ass long front since Belarus will get gobbled up quickly. And kiss Kalingrad bye bye too

Only about a dozen of the US supplied 777 howitzers have been deployed thus far on the front lines.

Hopefully, a game changer when all of them (plus others provided by western countries) come to bear.

NYTimes:

"The United States said weeks ago it would provide the howitzers, but their use in combat has so far been mostly hinted at in online videos posted, mostly anonymously, by soldiers. On Sunday, the military provided The New York Times a tour of a gun line in eastern Ukraine, the first independent confirmation by international media that the guns are in use.

Military analysts say the full effect won’t be felt for at least another two weeks, because Ukraine has yet to train enough soldiers to fire all 90 such howitzers pledged by the United States and other allies. Only about a dozen guns are now at the front, and they are not a guarantee of victory, as the Russians continue to engage in fierce fighting in the eastern Donbas region."
