War in Ukraine

India and Pakistan both do business with Russia. They could probably put their differences aside if they both had a common enemy.
They also do business with us.

These arent differences like you vote for the wrong Letter. These are differences like, I am actively trying to kill you, and engage in military actions against you every year or so.

NATO supporting/aiding Pakistan during the war on terror is a BIG reason India never got too warm with the west.

I would think China is the real prize and India is the one left out of your team.

"Your team"? I've said before I'm not siding with Ukraine or Russia. I'm not sure why so many people in here lack reading comprehension skills.

The U.S. needs to stay out of it. Let countries like UK and Poland. Some of these guys have stated those 2 countries could handle Russia on their own. Why not let them handle it? I'm sure Macron is also a strong leader and could help bring Russia to their knees.

It's because you literally can not say anything bad about Russia as a stand alone comment. Literally can not. First time in the history of warfare ever where the aggressor has absolutely zero fault worth noting.

You have picked a side. Even if we suspend logic for a moment and accept your stance that this war is because of the US, it makes no sense to put more blame on the US for indirect actions prolonging this war, than on Russia for their direct actions prolonging the war. It takes two to tango, and you want to blame the musician rather than the dancer. Again accepting your flawed premise that this is all because of the US.

India-Russia relationship dates back to the 60's. While they are enamored with Western culture, Indians have carried a lot of anger against the US as a supporter of UK in pre-independence period. When they started building up their military after border incidents with China and based on their fear of China, they developed nukes which the US tried to stop. The Russians supported that and India whole heartedly began buying Russian military hardware. Then later we sell F-16's to Pakistan (before the war on terror) and that pretty much put them solidly in the Soviet aligned block.

The hilarious part is they are locked into Russian military equipment after 60 years. But who is Russia's new best friend, China.

And the Russians and China (there it is again) have been trying to exploit the breach between Pakistan and the US after Afghanistan and the duplicity of the Pakistanis. Would, and after the sanctions, could Russia supply arms to India if their border heats up again (remember there were combat deaths on the border between the 2 in the last couple of years)? If you are India and you've got Pakistan on your west and China on your north with your primary military supplier getting its butt kicked in a fight against an opponent a fraction of its size, you gotta' be feeling pretty insecure. One of the reasons Modi is stoking such nationalism, it's always good as a distraction.

Funny side story, after India developed its nukes, Pakistan started a massive development program culminating in a nuke weapon. Of course it's a first generation nuke before they could engage in miniaturization so the thing is huge, like the WW2 bombs. Problem is, they don't have a bomber that can carry the thing. So they configure a C-130 to where the ramp had tracks on it and the plan was for the crew to just push it out the back if they ever had to use it. Not signing up for that aircrew. Of course they now have several nukes that are deliverable by current attack aircraft.

In that part of the world nothing is simple.
