War in Ukraine

Speaking of @volgr - try this on for size, comrade!

More western propaganda, which is your forte. I'd love to hear Ben Wallace elaborate on HOW Russia is losing while they continue to slowly take and control territory in the south and east, Ukrainian desertions in those areas continue to climb as do their captured and dead. Russia is probably trading 1 dead for every 4 Ukrainian dead right now and the desertions/POW ratio is MUCH higher than that. Then you have the economic picture, to which Russia is handling far better than Europe and things in the US aren't all that great either.

Likely an entire battalion sized force wiped out in one fires mission woohoo!

If the specifics are to be believed, which a lot of it I highly doubt, It would have been an obvious loss for Russia. It is war however, you aren't going to fight it perfectly, but at the end of the day Russia made it across and continues to advance. Get excited over a small win, I guess (if it is true), but as usual you don't see the bigger picture.

Russian forces did not make any significant advances anywhere in Ukraine on May 11, and Ukrainian forces took further ground northeast of Kharkiv. The Ukrainian counteroffensive north of Kharkiv City has forced Russian troops onto the defensive and necessitated reinforcement and replenishment efforts intended to prevent further Ukrainian advances towards the Russian border. Russian efforts along the Southern Axis and in Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts remain similarly stalled, and Russian forces have not made any significant gains in the face of continued successful Ukrainian defenses.

Ukraine has plenty of issues, all of which you dodged and want to talk about fires in Russia.
I have only seen more badly faked russian issues at the conscript stations. Pictures with either armed russian soldiers in the back ground, or russian city names in the back ground. Not quite the Sims level badly faked, but pretty easy to spot if you know what to look for.

I do think Ukraine is putting a pretty face on things, but as always the truth is somewhere in the middle. Things arent going as well for Ukraine as Ukraine says, and it's not as bad for Ukraine as Russia says.

Just like the downfall of Russia has been weeks away this entire time, you guys have been saying the same thing about Ukraine collapsing in weeks as well.

LMAO Larry you didn’t want those troops anyway amirite? 🤡 And no they didn’t make it across. Well they did for a short time. Before the second fires mission wiped them out 😈

Pepperidge Farm remembers you doubting the Moskva sinking also 😂

Stalled, except they took Popasnaya the other day and today have taken Rubizhne. I'd wad that report up and throw it away, where it belongs.

There is propaganda on both sides. Why do you only believe the Russian version of propaganda? Yes, Russia is making small gains in the south and east, but they are losing ground in the northeast. Neither you nor I know the true figures on the ground in Ukraine because it is a war zone with very limited or accurate reports.

You stated that Russia never really tried to take Kiev. Actually, they tired a coup. They wanted a huge show of force to scare the Ukrainian leaders to abandon the country so they could insert their own people so that they could turn Ukraine into a puppet state just like Belarus. When the coup did not succeed and they took loses, they retreated.

You have stated that Ukraine must not really be in danger as they have held concerts and received diplomats in Kiev. Do you realize that the distance from Kiev to the actual front is about the same as the distance from Boston to D.C.? Other than the occasional cruise missile that Russia launches, they don't have anything that can reach Kiev since they moved their troops to the east.

You have complained about the U.S. sending $40B to Ukraine. Yes, Ukraine is corrupt. It has drug trafficking, sexual exploitation, and outright bribery. So do most cities in the U.S.. Does that mean that no city in the U.S. has a right to exist?

You say if Ukraine would have just given up land or sued for peace, then many lives would have been saved. That is correct but who are you to put a value on another person's freedom? If they are willing to fight for their freedom, we and others should help them if we are able. Thank God France decided to help us at one time, even though they really only cared about costing England men and treasure much as we only care about costing Russia the same, or we would be living under the Queen right now.

Please continue to post as I always like to see both sides of the spectrum. However, you shouldn't act like you are the only one on here that knows the "truth".

@volgr really, what in the hell is wrong with you? By not having won already Russia has lost. You boast about inches, feet and yards gained in the east in a war that Russia went into expecting to end in days or weeks at the most. You deny it but their intention was to smash Kyiv, overturn the government and occupy the country. Instead they've been bloodied at every turn. Their elite paratroopers were destroyed before they hit the ground. Their massive charge into the city was halted in its tracks. Literally in its tracks volger. They did a 180 and fled the country with only their lives shedding equipment as they ran away. They have united and likely expanded NATO which was never a threat to them in the first place. Unless of course they attacked a member state. You scoff at the sanctions as if they are nothing. But they are not nothing. They will inflict damage and it will get worse the longer they stay in place. Outside of their few allies they have become a world pariah. Putin has embarrassed his nation, himself and put his presidency and his life in danger.

How can you say Russia is winning and keep a straight face? I don't know if you are stubborn or just plain dumb.

Just 100% truth.

Because Russia intel is much more accurate (and without the clownish Ghost of Kiev or Snake Island nonsense).

I think they wanted a quick negotiated settlement. I don't think they have ever had any aspiration of taking on the whole of Ukraine, with or without a puppet regime.

You have stated that Ukraine must not really be in danger as they have held concerts and received diplomats in Kiev.

I have not stated that.

You have complained about the U.S. sending $40B to Ukraine. Yes, Ukraine is corrupt. It has drug trafficking, sexual exploitation, and outright bribery. So do most cities in the U.S.. Does that mean that no city in the U.S. has a right to exist?

Ukraine being corrupt doesn't mean it shouldn't exist. Ukraine provoking a neighboring Country and not being able to protect its' borders from said neighboring Country does have consequences and one of those is possibly having your borders violated.

You say if Ukraine would have just given up land or sued for peace, then many lives would have been saved. That is correct but who are you to put a value on another person's freedom? If they are willing to fight for their freedom, we and others should help them if we are able. Because our "help" doesn't occur in a vacuum. Just look at all of misadventures over the last few decades. The unintended consequences, blowback, etc. This is having huge negative ramifications, not only at home and in Europe...but worldwide. All for what? What have we gained? The majority Ukrainian lands would have been preserved in a negotiated settlement and tens of thousands of their young men would still be alive.

I think there are many who post in this thread who are either ignorant of the subject or intellectually dishonest. I don't think I am the only one who knows the truth but I do think I am one of a very few who post truthfully.
