War in Ukraine

Buchanan: Is Ukraine's War Now America's War? | ZeroHedge

By bragging publicly that we helped engineer the killing of Russian generals and the sinking of the cruiser Moskva, we taunt Russian President Vladimir Putin. We provoke him into retaliating in kind against us, thereby raising the possibility of a wider U.S.-Russia war that could escalate into World War III.

Moreover, U.S. boasting like this plays right into Putin’s narrative that Russia is facing and fighting in Ukraine a U.S.-led alliance that is out to crush Russia.

What? No one believes that.

Blowing up Russians and slow fusing thier economy back a 100 years is money well spent. When you grow up, you can ask an adult why this is a good thing.

is it? what are we in for now - 100 billion if the current requests are granted?

our history of intervention isn't exactly something to brag about.

will be a decade or three before we can assess whether this is money well spent

I don't think I've got that long. I'm going to go ahead and mark it down as a good thing.

then we should be throwing trillions at f'n with China

$100b is 2% of our annual budget. If it brings Russia to its knees, it will be money well spent. All without Americans firing a shot.

For perspective, we spend $25b annually subsidizing farmers.

At least you got cheap food for those subsidies, we get jack squat out of bringing Russia to it’s knees.

Never let us here you complain about deficit spending then. Easy to demise the "compromised" budget that Trump took to grow the military budget with the subsequent domestic social spending.
Those weapons from Trump military spending are feeding Ukraine today.

why do we need to bring Russia to it's knees? they were fading anyway.

how much is it worth to bring Iran to it's knees? seems we are more interested in supporting them.

what other countries should be on the kneel list?

don't even get me started on the "it's only 2% of our annual budget" comment

I'm just thinking through the nations we brought to their knees. Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan (sorta), plus any number of other interventions where we took it to the ruling faction. Not a great track record.

Hey Biden reinitiated Lend Lease. All good.
I cannot believe he threw out that dinosaur.
