War in Ukraine

Not seeing the connection AT ALL and actually surprised you made this comment.
It was a dumb political stunt...hey we helped you defeat the Nazis and yet made you subservient. People that are still alive that lived under that brutal regime have memories.
So you don't see a connection or similarity between desecrating WWII memorials in France and demonstrating/protesting people going to a WWII memorial in Poland?

That would make sense if this was the very first time they had been to that cemetery. Then you could definitely say it was a political stunt. But if this is a regular type of visit, then we all know what this is over, and it ain't got nothing to do with making them subservient.
No it makes sense as is since it’s clearly an empty stupid ass gesture when the invading bastards are raping and pillaging Ukraine right next door Moe 🤡

Maybe the Poles simply remember the half century that Moscow DID make them subservient. The Soviets didn’t exactly bless Eastern Europe with freedom, happiness, no wealth from 1945 to 1989 you know.

WWII memorials in France are filled with people who came to France to liberate it, and then their countries left. The Soviets came merely to replace one tyranny with their own. Huge difference IMHO

So they choose this moment to get their outrage on? Why are they only now showing some rage about WWII? Assuming what you are saying is the reason...

I am saying that the Poles have several centuries of pent up grievances against Russia all the way back to the Tsars (just like they do gibt the Prussians/Germans). It will take many many generations to change that. Invading Ukraine set back any future rapprochement between Poland and Russia several more decades. It was NOT the way to make friends with the Poles

Hitler came in at the perfect time when Germany was still reeling.

Well actually his first attempt at power totally failed and it took over 10 years for the Nazi Party to even gain 15% support nationally. The key was they didn't give up and waited until the other parties failed. It didn't help that the Nazis made a bunch of predictions that ended up coming true by blind luck about economics, borrowing, etc. The Great Depression really played into their view points.

I'm going to wake up one morning and the conversation is going to go something like...

Ukraine: "Hey, Hey wake up, you hear that?"

West: "What do you mean, I don't hear anything."

Ukraine: "That's it... The Russians are gone. There's no bombing... what happened?"

West: "Uhhhh.... IDK, let ne take a look."

West: "Hey.... Russia, you OK over there? It's a little quiet, where you at?"

Russia: "What do you mean? We are right here, where we've always been."

West: "Well, what happened to Ukraine? You know, all that raping and pillaging and killing and burning... all that fun stuff."

Russia: "I don't know what you are talking about, we were never in Ukraine, you must be thinking of someone else. You western nato nazis are always blaming someone else."

Haha or maybe Putin will get his wish and see a united Russia-Ukraine with Ukraine conquering Russia...

I'm not denying that there is some hard feelings on both sides. I'm just asking is this a regular occurrence or is this something that is just happening this year.

“Some hard feelings”. Yeah, four (or five depending on which list you use) partitions along with continuous meddling in Poland’s internal affairs, and the occasional war crime and massacre thrown in do tend to cause, how did you say it, “some hard feelings”

I admire the former Eastern Bloc nations more than I ever would Western Europe.
