They need to follow the Tampa Bay model…. That is a well run franchise…. That’s why the Dodgers are so consistently good…. They use Tampa Bay metrics with having money to spend….They make it so hard - it's just not worth it anymore. Basic player management practice in small markets; sell as your star players are near peak performance, not after that has already occurred. Sell for proven MLB ready prospects, not for has beens, wannabes and lower level prospects. They continue to do the exact opposite of that hoping to hit on enough blue light specials to keep people coming to GABP, while calling the same fan base out for being PO'd and skeptical. Buh-bye, losers.
It's just not that hard, but this bunch has never grasped the concept. They even sold out to analytics throughout the entire org two years ago without first building the farm up with prospects that match that method.
Dumb beyond words.
Who the hell is talking about hitting grounders? I'm talking about hitting line drives...jeez man.The way you Swing a bat doesn’t determine if you walk or not….. They want you to walk or drive the ball…. They don’t want you hitting it on the ground bc that leads to Double plays…. The stat you need to go by is ops% bc it adds together a players on base % and slugging %….. Look at Oscar Albies of the Braves….. he is 5’8 165 with decent speed…. 30 years ago…. He would be a slap hitter and using his wheels but in todays game he has good bat path and drives the baseball.
I disagree a little..there is a very loud and very toxic section of Vol "fans"...I don't know how truly large that section of the fanbase is though..We're not toxic, we're dedicated and faithful.
The bolded is true with every fanbase, which puts the underlined in question.I disagree a little..there is a very loud and very toxic section of Vol "fans"...I don't know how truly large that section of the fanbase is though..
That is why I say so often that
"We are the best fanbase in sports..
We are the worst fanbase in sports.."
Both statements are true..
I never said anything bad about Redmond Walsh. I will admit to turning on JG, but that was after multiple examples of bad play. I'm dedicated and faithful to my Vols. Coaches come and go, but the Vols always remain.Unless a coach or player fails. Then we are pretty unfaithful. Most recent example: Redmond Walsh failing to close on Auburn last week.
We were talking bat path….. slap type hitting and hitting down as some people call it leads to more grounders….. bat path is just trying to get the barrel of the bat in the direct path of the ball so you can “barrel” it up…… Those towering fly balls are actually misses by the batters…. If you it optimally then it will looked a really hard smoked climbing line drive.Who the hell is talking about hitting grounders? I'm talking about hitting line drives...jeez man.
I don't think I like your toxicity.I disagree a little..there is a very loud and very toxic section of Vol "fans"...I don't know how truly large that section of the fanbase is though..

I get why he feels that way, but it is what it is now. If Barnes ain't going to play the game, then he will have to go or the program is toast. On the VQ Podcast, Rob said Barnes does not agree with giving a large NIL deal to recruits due to recruits not having "sweat equity." Worrisome for future recruiting imo.
I am not talking about hitting down...I am talking about swinging level, which is what I thought you said a couple of days ago that you were trying to get your kid to stop doing. We were talking bat path….. slap type hitting and hitting down as some people call it leads to more grounders….. bat path is just trying to get the barrel of the bat in the direct path of the ball so you can “barrel” it up…… Those towering fly balls are actually misses by the batters….
