The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

It says in PK's article he asked for a trade. Ask/demand doesn't matter how you phrase. Once you reach that stage, it's over.

Yes, I was just pointing out that we don’t know where that information (trade ask) came from. He was implying the team was just saying that to CYA. Not sure that it came from the team, though. Or maybe I misunderstood.

What did AJ think would happen when the Titans were not going to pay him what he wanted?

In his eyes? Probably they'd meet in the middle or closer to $22-23 mil.

Honestly, most NFL organization front offices handle this all essentially the same when players demand higher contracts and/or threaten to sit out: they'll wait a few months more, training camp comes around, the player starts receiving fines for missing early camp AND they're not getting any ($0) of their yearly salary until they show up...at which point the player shows up and either (a) plays out a contract year trying to earn a more/higher value deal from the team during the next offseason (if not he gets franchise tagged) or (b) the two reach an agreement - either during the season or preseason - that meets somewhere in the middle value-wise...(it's almost become like a standard song and dance).

The reporting posted here didn’t say the team said he demanded a trade. Or did I miss something?

The claim for a trade demand doesn’t seem to be inconsistent with the public behavior of Brown here, either. Not sure why you assume fake news. In the end, doesn’t matter. He made it clear what he wanted. Honestly they did him right by trading him to a team that would pay that price.

Where in my post quoted there did I say that?

Why did a pass first bama score 10 points against a team that he was the best player for?

Because Bama's best WR got ejected, the oline is not good, and McCreary was allowed to commit assault and battery until OT when Mechie went around him like he was a traffic cone.

So we agree McCreary was a huge part of Bama’s worst offensive game? Auburn’s d played them better than Georgia

We aren't going to get a top QB in the draft any time soon because we play in a trash division and win too many games to get a top 10 pick.
There will be decent options that fall in a more QB heavy draft. But the guys in this draft just arent worth it unless we can get one in the 5th round or later.

After he's played for the Titans, and he either gets burned or gets constantly flagged, I promise I will not say "I told you so." But I will remember this conversation and, more importantly, so will you.

All dbs get burned. If he’s on the field to get burned, it was probably a good pick at this point given our need
