Everything always goes into saving face with the public mode, especially with organizations in situations like this when it comes to the release/removal of fan favorites. It gets kind of eye-rolling, honestly.
And from a business standpoint, an NFL organization would probably consider a contract with "incentives to get up to 20 mil per year" almost the same thing - or pretty close to - a $20 mil per year contract. That wouldn't be surprising from most league front offices.
It says in PK's article he asked for a trade. Ask/demand doesn't matter how you phrase. Once you reach that stage, it's over.The reporting posted here didn’t say the team said he demanded a trade. Or did I miss something?
The claim for a trade demand doesn’t seem to be inconsistent with the public behavior of Brown here, either. Not sure why you assume fake news. In the end, doesn’t matter. He made it clear what he wanted. Honestly they did him right by trading him to a team that would pay that price.
