The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

Honestly think we are going to take Malik Willis, let him sit this year, and let RT walk after this season. And I think that's the smart thing to do. Who knows, maybe RT gets injured and Willis comes in and never goes back out.

I like this class better for finding a Tannehill replacement. Hope to see them build this year to fit more immediate needs and make another 2 year run to win the South and possibly a SB run. Jags going defense with 2 1st rounders was surprising - not upgrading their OL instead. Houston a mess. Indy trotting out old man Ryan.

An early look at the 2023 NFL Draft quarterback class: Alabama's Bryce Young, Ohio State's C.J. Stroud and more | NFL Draft | PFF

Im not saying it was a bad move, good move, etc but it did signal to me that the Titans are willing to pull back alittle (few rookie WRs make huge splashes their first year) to rebuild after last year's failure. I think its obvious to Robinson/Vrabel that they dont have the QB capable of winning it all and why spend yourself into salary cap hell trying to build around him. Wait until you can identify another Qb to move forward with. JMO
Maybe, or maybe the plan is to stay relevant in the playoff scenario and catch lightning in a bottle like we did a couple of years ago. I do think we look for a bridge QB in a year or so.

Avoided this thread last night because of the meltdown I expected and I was right lol. I do not like trading AJ (I do like Burks) but I understand why the Titans did it and it’s not because of anyones current contact or the fact we don’t want to lay our own. AJ wanted Top 5 money and he might be a top 15 WR and has injury concerns, add that with the social media stuff not surprised J-Rob moved on. Very interested to see what we do with the 2nd round pick I’d say QB is very much in play.

Too much reasonableness in this post. 😀

I really can’t think of anyone who’s actually gone through with the threat other than him. The majority (if not almost all) show back up once they start getting hit with the penalties early/middle of the summer.
He is the only one I can recall as well. The funny thing is, the Steelers initial offer was more than the Jets ended up paying him. So he ended up losing an entire year of his prime and salary, while also losing money on his new contract.

The Brown trade to the Eagles surprised me and I think the Arkansas receiver is a poor man's version of Brown.

I feel like I’ve been brainwashed into believing that taking the Liberty QB will right the ship. My brain says OL is more important. There aren’t any OL left projected above 50th pick so I expect a trade down to try and get two picks between 50-80.

Pre-draft-resuming, I feel there would almost be a higher probability of them ending up trading back again than taking Willis with that pick.

Gave the Titans no choice

It doesn't even seem like it was that close from what we've been hearing today. A lot of the reports today have been saying the team offered something around $16 mil a year, with an incentive set they claimed "could" get up to $20 mil a year.

While apparently, $22 mil a year would have been enough to make it work (again, based on what's been reported today).

Why would they lie about the 20 mill figure? The titans made the right choice here
