Depends on where you’re at. I’m pretty much on par with the income/new house ratio.

You’re correct, for instance there is a large difference between urban and rural locations. Nashville now for instance has home prices skyrocketing.

Another thing to keep in mind is that in 1951, the vast majority of households were 1 income, where today it is 2. The issue there is quite similar to the “shrinkflation” we are seeing at increasing rates today.

Born and raised...Red Bank native. Haven't lived there since 89. Would love to take you up on your offer otherwise. Champy's is one of the better things to happen since I left. Worst is Nikki's being bought and scuttled for yuppie huts.

It is! I think Penguin's Deli closed but my Mom always recreated it perfectly. It's why I got excited when we had pot roast. Knew the sandwiches were up the next day.
