6.5 is being a little generous. 🤢

So over/under a 5?

Not the same situation. You're also forgetting Spyre, though around, was not as established when we were going after Verse and Neyor as it is now. That was pre-club.
How do you know it wasn't the same situation...demands being the situation? Verse or Neyor or Agude very well could have said, "we want a million" or "seven fifty", or, "we want to start, no questions asked", or, "we want gauranteed this amount of snaps"; and, we said no thanks, too much. Exact same situation. Kasper asked for 1.5 million...we said, too much.

Now, I'm not saying that happened; but, I'm also not saying it didn't.

So every recruit, portal or otherwise, that we miss on going forward is because "we didn't really want them that bad". Got it.

In the world of NIL I think that is literally going to be true.

When players sign in free agency in the NFL for some dollar amount, it is a fact that 31 other teams didn't want them bad enough to pay that dollar amount or higher.

That is even more true with no salary cap.

That’s a fact? So nothing else factors into free agency besides money? I hope you aren’t serious. And no if we miss on a recruit it’s not because we didn’t want them bad enough. That MIGHT be the case with some but not all. Regardless what some might want to think it’s not all about money.

Yeah that's pretty much a fact. Money is the biggest factor with top recruits. I don't have any issue saying that because money has proven time and again to be the biggest factor with pro athletes in free agency.

Money is also the only factor that is scalable. With no salary cap, theoretically infinetly scalable.

We offer the same NIL money to a recruit as Oregon. He likes Oregon’s coaches better. Fine, double it. Not enough? Triple it. Why can't you stack money to drown out whatever other hypothetical factors you can think of? Of course you can. At that point, saying you aren't willing to pay more is no different than saying you don't want them past a certain number on a check.

The illusion of players having some hypothetical bond with a school they have been to twice or a city they have never lived in... I think that's fairy tale land. Maybe it always has been. But now... Sheesh. I'd revert back to believing in Santa Claus before I believe Nico's NIL deal was just one factor in many as to why he's coming here.

I need a new video game to pass the time between now and the season... Any suggestions? I like games like the Elder Scrolls, Red Dead Redemption 2, the Witcher 3, Fallout New Vegas, etc.

A ton of conjecture in this post. You are making way too many assumptions based on nothing but opinions. While I agree money is a big part of it look at Travis Hunter last year. He went to Jackson State over every single big program in the country. You think that was money? You honestly believe that money is the biggest reason Bama gets a top 3 recruiting class every year? Come on man. That’s ridiculous.

If you have no issue saying money is the biggest factor with top recruits, offer the proof. Like with Nico. Let’s see the proof that the NIL was the biggest factor. If we are throwing money around like nobodies business and steamrolling people in the NIL, then why aren’t we the #1 recruiting class? Our per recruit average is still lower than many schools. Look at last year. It’s all about money right? TAMU paid more than anyone right? Yet their per average recruit was 94.91. Yet Bamas was 95.19. If it were all about the money why wasn’t TAMU per avg recruit ranking higher?

I’ve been playing forbidden west and having fun with it

I don't have a playstation (all my toys got toasted in the house fire so I only PC game now). I played Zero Dawn when they finally ported it and loved what I got to play but it had a gamebreaking bug where the game would nag you to update your driver but if you updated (and I did) the game would no longer launch. I'm sure they've fixed it by now so that's something I may need to revisit. I wish the various consoles would unrestrict content after a while. Games like Forbidden West and Call of the Wild that are designed to sell consoles should be available to port to PC after a year. They'd still serve their purpose but those of us locked out of a specific console would still get to play.
