The ironic thing is that DeSantis made his announcement at the Villages, an expansive Florida gated retirement community That self governs under a special district Just like Disney utilizes (Just establishment Post the 1968 cutoff) 😂

Lol that guy. Surely they ran one and knows that it wouldn't have a drastic effect on residents and it's only on Disney. We will see. They better hope that's the case. This might simply spark a new deal by the end of the year before property taxes switch over.

It is definitely designed to get Disney’s attention. You use the term stunt. I use the term bargaining leverage. But I do agree neither side wants it to happen. It is basically a very high stakes game of chicken. Consider this a brush back pitch. The legislature will pass the bill (barring an apology by Disney) and a one year Countdown Starts. That is when the real poker game is played

The actual switch if the bill passes isn’t until June 2023. plenty of time for a deal. The lawyers will of their wallets accordingly for that year

Disney will remain in Florida, they won’t lose any meaningful special privileges, no apology will be issued, and Florida will be happy to have them. Desantis and the Florida republicans will score points with their base voters by issuing empty threats… and life will go on as usual.

Well no ****. That doesn't mean this stupid exercise isn't going to raise taxes on Floridians who are probably very unaware. DeSantis being hailed as some hero is laughable. Tossing red meat to the cheap seats while at the same time bending them over. He is exactly the same as every politician ever. Keep him the hell away from higher office.

I have never had a problem accepting someone being elected. Only children do that. Doesn't mean he isn't a massive dbag. We have had several of those. Just another in a long list.
