I can't imagine the people around during the preparation of the Constitution even imagining nuclear weapons or ICBMs. Even people a hundred years further down the line probably couldn't have imagined those.

I'd say they could envision super weapon explosives that would be prohibitively difficult to use with any regularity

That's very easy to say from where we sit. We don't know her personal situation: family, friends, work, school, etc. Maybe she stays and tries to makes things better. If she leaves that's one less voice there against tyranny.

Yet, Putin is the only one who has threatened other countries. When you play the nuke card, don't expect friends from threatened countries. Everybody but Russia has shown remarkable restraint ... Russia has shown remarkable incompetence, arrogance, and aggression. Russia right now is nothing more than a huge, thuggish, third world country with nuclear weapons and an irrational leader. It's honestly too bad we are only left to judge the character of a country by it's leaders.

Even here where we supposedly have more rights and influence, you could say with almost certainty that there's not one among us on VN who could do anything about Biden's idiocy and his policies. We can vote, but obviously we can't outvote 81M fools. It's a sad fact that people of a country have to be judged by their leaders.

Just semantics. If they don't buy Russian oil, somebody else will. Germany will buy they oil that somebody else rejected for Russian oil. As somebody pointed out before, it's a global commodity. Oil might just as well be poured into one big pot unless it's produced and used domestically ... and then the price is still going to reflect the global price.

That's the major flaw in our open arms for illegals policy. Better they stay and do something about countries they are fleeing, but they won't while there's an easier path.
