Girl saw him on a plane. Confronted him about his ump skills. He said she was bothering his family and to leave him alone. Crazy fan versus cry baby ump. A tail as old as time.
I'm not saying it didn't happen. ... but...

I'm sure Macias knows how to play the court of public opinion. Nobody likes us, especially not baseball fans. He's enduring an insane (though well-deserved) amount of criticism for his being a terrible ump (57 missed calls in G1) and injecting himself into the series this weekend. And the viral posts about umps getting assaulted (sometimes brutally) by little league parents. So how can he take heat off him, play the popular narrative, and make Tennessee look bad?

TV Kung Fu Panda'ed his *ss and say a woman harassed he and his family on a flight (that nobody is verifying). Easy.

I mean, I suppose its possible a Vol fan was visiting family for Easter and went to/watched the game then happened to catch the same flight back to wherever she came... but not many fly into Knoxville just to watch the BaseVols play. Idk though.

I was following that story. A Vols fan showed a pic of him and he was in the seat behind her. She received a lot of helpful suggestions.

I'm assuming the tweet in question was a video... Posted by the dumbass crazy fan. But I don't know. It was deleted before I got here.

I really can't stand the going after refs and umps thing psyco fans do.

Dude could be a complete POS. Punches babies and stomps out puppies in his free time. But the fact of the matter is he didn't do anything personally to you and you don't have a right to say **** to the guy just because you spectated an interaction he had with someone else.

Mind your own business is a lost art. And the beef between a crappy umpire and TV isn't any of your business just cause you see a dude on a plane.

If it was merely comments? Then fans have every right on their own time. If he wants a force field…he should get into accounting. He made an ass out of himself this weekend. Serves him right to see it in play.

When I look at our opponents in the preseason I usually point to things that I think are their weaknesses and by and large I focus on what I think are our strengths. It doesn’t always work out that way but that usually gets me less grief from my fellow travelers in this forum. I prefer a peaceful happy life. jmo.

This is my assessment of a hypothetical depth chart for us coming out of spring. My reference is against the strongest opponents on our schedule. This is just my sense of things right now.

I’m assuming McCoy commits and arrives this summer ready for work. I’m expecting his performance to be at least as good as his 2020 season on a per target basis and I think he sees a ton of more targets in our scheme. I see McCoy as a Da’Rick Rogers type player, very physical and makes tough catches. jmo.

I’m good with both our veteran QBs because I think Milton is likely improving. We’ll see. jmo.

I like Small at RB but I’m not sure about his durability. Mack said Whitehead was our best pass blocking running back and this is the first year he’s been at full health since he’s been on campus. I think starting out, most, including me, think Wright will likely be RB2. jmo.

Beyond our 4 returning starters I haven’t seen anything to like about anyone else in our OL room. I mean I like Nichols but he’s a freshman. I hate the idea of moving Carvin over to center if Cooper gets banged up again because I don’t think we have an SEC capable backup for Jerome at LG. It’s a terrible thing when your best option may be to insert a true freshman at center against Georgia, Alabama, or Florida because your starter went down but I’m so down on everyone else I think even though it’s a lousy choice it may still the best available. jmo.

Obviously Tillman is a strength and Hyatt has talent and a little experience. We have a lot of potential behind Hyatt and some potential behind Tillman and McCoy. jmo.

Georgia has 3 amazing TEs. I don’t know how we’re going to cover them. I don’t know how anyone is going to cover them. Our TEs benefit from our scheme and any one of Georgia’s TEs in our scheme might be worth an additional 2 wins for us. jmo.

Coach G said we were thin and lacking in talent on the defensive line. I wouldn’t argue with that. We really need some guys to step up behind the few that we’re already heavily counting upon. Bryson Eason and Dominic Bailey, where are you? jmo.

I like Banks and Beasley best out of our LB room. Maybe Mitchell can help. CBJ-M said his attitude was improved this year. I’d really like to see Willis step up. jmo.

I think we have a number of good options at the Star position. jmo.

I think we’re average in the back end with a lot of experience in McCollough and Flowers. I really think Charles could be a player and maybe even Williams. My sense from the interviews and reports is that both are very athletic but need to continue learning the corner positions at this level. They might be able to help us a lot this season. jmo.

I listened to Callahan again this past week from his appearance on Ainge’s radio show and he again said he expected us to be active in the portal as we move forward this spring. I think the coaches are probably looking for immediate contributors that are also a good fit with the team culture. We’re sort of restricted to getting guys from outside the SEC but they need to have some proven capability of competing at the upper P5 level. I think we’ve got enough bodies this year, unlike last, so what we need now is better. jmo.

Finally, some of the guys that I’m not really high on right now could surprise during fall camp or as we move into the season. I do think we have good culture and a good development program. Right now I think we’re probably still a 7-win football team against our schedule but we have some upside potential depending on how we develop our roster between now and season start and depending on how well our opponents progress or not. For example and for what it’s worth, I was reading an article from an Alabama writer after their spring game and he said they were in a pretty bad place with their offensive line. Do they get it fixed or will that be the key to our win over them this year? Unlikely as it may seem I think our game with them this year could possibly be a toss-up. That would require us to improve and them to regress. jmo.

Coach G giving his all for Tennessee. jmo.

Georgia -

As previously noted, last year we moved the football (primarily through the air) against Georgia better than anyone else on their schedule not named Alabama. The list of teams we did better than included Clemson, Florida, Auburn, and Michigan. We didn’t just gain more yards; we also scored more points than anyone else not named Alabama.

I’ve said to compete with elite teams I think we have to score more points. Obviously they will have something to say about that. Our defense may be able to slow down some offenses but I’m very skeptical it will be able to stop elite ones. jmo.

I’ve said the opening we may have against Georgia this year is the likelihood that their defense regresses, maybe more than some are currently expecting. jmo.

From 92.9 Atlanta Sports Radio:

Who will be the Bulldogs' starter next season: Carson Beck, Brock Vandagriff, Gunner Stockton or the returning Bennett?

While many are concerned with the answer to that question, the Midday Show with Andy and Randy said the bigger question is Georgia's defense.

"Georgia's biggest problem going into next year isn't Stetson Bennett and that damn offense," Randy McMichael said. "That offensive line is going to be better than it was this past year."

"Georgia's biggest issue next year is rebuilding the historically great front seven. That's it. They've got to rebuild that. And I love me some DT Jalen Carter and I love me some LB Nolan Smith--if you mean to tell me that's all you got, then Georgia's going to be in trouble on that side of the ball."

DL Jordan Davis, DL Devonte Wyatt, LB Nakobe Dean, DL Travon Walker, S Lewis Cine, LB Channing Tindall, LB Quay Walker and DB Derion Kendrick are all defensive stars Kirby Smart has to replace.

I don’t know about that offensive line. They lost 2 guys to the NFL and their offensive line coach retired apparently due to burnout. That also lost their 2 leading running backs along with Pickens at wide receiver. They lost their wide receivers coach. They lost their Defensive Coordinator. They lost their defensive backs coach to the new staff at Miami. Additionally they lost a lot of talent to the portal. As a minimum, they’re going to have a lot younger team this year, especially on defense. jmo.

I think we are probably going to score more points against Georgia this year. The only question is can our defense slow their offense down enough for us to come out ahead. I think this is our best opportunity to take Georgia down since the DobbNail Boot. jmo.

Not saying that the Ump incident on the flight didn’t happen, but why delete the tweets if she was telling the truth? The fact she deleted the tweets about the ump being on her flight and confronting her makes me question if it really happened or not

She was kinda getting ratio'd a bit. That's a common precursor to deletion.

I think it's incredibly cringe if true. Grow up.

Disagree. You pay for the tickets, people watch the game, all of this is an investment into his job and the product that he is charged to oversee. If a guy is going to diminish the product on the field with either bad quality or personal vendettas, he deserves to hear the opinions of those investors. Should it go beyond comments? Of course not.

This is why NCAA, NFL, NBA, etc need to have transparent officiating reviews and actions. It would calm those moments down because "SEC will release their report and if we disagree, go after the SEC"
