Agreed. The staff has been excellent, but so has the offense for the most part. Both teams play with the same strike zone (unless we’re gonna be UK bball fans and blame the umps for every loss).

The TnTech game the approach at the plate was horrendous. Extremely undisciplined. Hitters getting flustered when bad calls instead of brushing them off. Not enough focus in the box.

Saying that the zone is the same for every pitch is a bit much. Just like in basketball, it’s not quite consistent like that. That’s college officiating for you. We haven’t played our best either, but ignoring it all is putting your head in the sand. Same ump behind the plate as our Texas game last year in the CWS. Can’t make the error either in a close game. They aren’t all mutually exclusive. We’ve got to be better, AND they have to be better.

I’m not worried. The only thing that sucks is how overblown the losses will be because the entire country hates us

I will bash any school for their mascot as meaningless compared to the Volunteers and all of the the Nationally important history associated with our team’s mascot.
I will always say that I am more proud to be a Tennessee Volunteer regardless of sports than they could possibly be. Being a Tennessee Volunteer actually represents something important. Compared to being a insert meaningless college here…

It’s all in good fun….. I’m surrounded by North Carolina, Duke, Clemson, and South Carolina fans….. my son made me proud the other day…. One of the kids on his team was wearing a Clemson hat….. My son told him that he was wearing the wrong color of orange.

I thought that too, but The Athletic podcast made it out as the attorney is the one that wanted to release it. For the "purpose" of making sure more kids were getting proper legal advice because he'd seen a lot of "screwovers" out there. Said that attorney basically stripped out all the pro-school/collective attachments to the $8mm deal.

Iow the attorney wanted to get his name out...and did.

I think this is the issue with umpiring for me. If the calls are consistent, you should and Tennessee often does adapt. If they are not consistent, all the adapting in the world won't help much.
