My boss scheduled me on Easter, 12 hour shift, while knowing everything going on in my family. Am I an ******* if I call out? I’m really considering it and I haven’t called out from a shift in 5 years or more at any job I’ve had.

Too many people have made too much money on working man's behalf for eons.

Easter is about much much more. That's why employers offer PTO.

Depends on how bad you need the $. Since its your day off, and if you dont routinely call out, show up late or are just generally a crappy employee I would say no without hesitation. Its easy to get burnout if youre constantly picking up shifts and switching with others etc.... Plus always remember family is forever, your job will replace you tomorrow without thinking twice if they want to. Take care of whats important.
