I guess. But if you don’t make sacrifices for your job, don’t expect promotions. I don’t expect to be a waitress forever. Granted, I don’t necessarily want to be a manager either.. but I like having glowing references in my resume. I won’t have family crises to keep me in menial positions forever. I’m only 25, and I plan on pursuing some sort of actual career once I’m done being my grandmother/uncles caretaker.Calling out of work isn’t a sin and shouldn’t be seen as one when there are serious reasons for it.
Got injured and can’t get out of bed?
Too sick to get out of bed?
Real personal issues that require you to be away from work?
I fail to see why anyone shouldn’t call out for those reasons.
You can be an asset for you job and still call out when the time necessitates it. All I’m saying.I guess. But if you don’t make sacrifices for your job, don’t expect promotions. I've heard Easter and Mother's day are the largest tip days of the year for restaurant workers. My boss scheduled me on Easter, 12 hour shift, while knowing everything going on in my family. Am I an ******* if I call out? I’m really considering it and I haven’t called out from a shift in 5 years or more at any job I’ve had.
If your in any kind of shipping dept. I need you to work, been waiting forever on some lawn mower parts.
