War in Ukraine

Pathetic.

Pootin may go down in history as the biggest failure of leadership, ever.

Everyone who used to revere Pootin as some sort of savvy tough guy playing chess at a checker game should apologize.

This guy is nothing but a dumbass low-level henchman that kept falling forward.

I actually think this fiasco supports how savvy he was prior this decision. He was working with a way worse hand than we ever dreamed of and punched way above his weight.

The assumption there is that he knew it. His tough guy mystique was likely predicated upon the fact he thought his d**k was 3 ft long because he was given 3-inch ruler that and was told it was 3ft.

And yet, by all accounts...

Putin is likely the richest man on this planet.

I don't view Putin or his inner circle as static entities. It could very well be the case (and seems likely) that this isn't the same Putin as years past.

Yes, the Great Game is a 200 year old strategy that the British Empire applied that we're carrying on right now. It is part of trying to maintain Anglo-American hegemony over the planet. But what we are finding is that we are eroding our own economy trying to engage in this empire building and in the process are also creating more enemies and are gradually isolating ourselves.
True to an extent. Would the same not apply to the other players?

The logistics were what held him up.
You mean kept him from further over extending? If the germans had the fuel they could have cut him off probably a dozen times. Do you think patton getting to the Rhine or Berlin two weeks before infantry support could get there turns out well? He was often a liability the Germans couldnt take advantage of. Doesnt matter if you take the ground if you cant hold it, or keep supplied.

If anyone was overrated, it was Monty. Monty was methodical but he was hesitant and over confident in his own abilities
In europe absolutely, got a bunch killed ir captured in Market Garden because he tried to take too much territory without support....sound like anyone?

So what is the weather report for say the last 48 hours around the Black Sea and Sea of Azov? Based on the credibility of these Russian asshats thus far I’m gonna guess clear skies, calm winds and mild seas?

Storms were in the area so some are doubting if they were able to get all the sailors off in rough seas but who knows. The biggest gain from this is a major anti-air platform in the area is now gone.

Storms bad enough to scuttle a huge cruiser like that? I’d guess it had to be listing badly for that to happen. And didnt they admit yesterday that the crew had already abandoned the ship? All kinds of inconsistencies here… as usual.

Biggest gain is that doubt in the military is taboo in Russia. A bit like here.

Montgomery would have lost NA had we not came in. Yes, he had the logistics behind him but you act as if the CG doesn't have a say in planing logistical support for his operations. Patton didn't just say "hey I'm going this way, keep up" to his field trains.
Not saying he ignored it, but even you cant argue he didnt stretch it past its breaking point. If he didnt he never would have had to wait, and he had to wait plenty of times. He literally pushed until his troops COULD NOT FIGHT due to supply. I dont care what the tactics are, if your men cant fight you arent doing your job.
