Yes, I grew up around it. Never said I served on it. My dad did. He was also part of the crew that decommissioned it in 1983-84? Can't remember the exact year. It was stationed in Charleston, S.C. After serving on the Mullinnix and decommissioning it, he was assigned shore duty in Meridian, MS, at the NAS there. After that, he did duty on the USS Tattnall in Mayport, FL. That's the second ship, DDG-19. He was never on the Saratoga, the carrier in the last pic, but it was ported in Mayport as well. The only carrier he served on was the Lexington, sometime in the 70's, when it was stationed in Pensacola, FL, which is where I was born.

Little off topic from yours but my dad was on the Eisenhower when it was deployed to the Indian Ocean during the hostage crisis. He did his shore duty in Mayport

Speculation that he wanted assurances about playing time. I think family/outside influences got to him. But if you followed his recruiting, Kentucky dropped him because of work ethic issues.

It appears the staff did not care what decision he made and was not trying to keep him. As LAVol has pointed out multiple times, it seems that we have built a culture throughout our AD where our programs want a certain type of player. I think Barnes thought he could mold him, but he certainly isn't going to coddle him.

I haven’t listened to his presser yet but the VQ 2 minute warning, they said Coach Mack hinted to some cultural issues in the locker room last year - late to meetings etc. and how they seemed to have changed that this year.

Last year at popular vacation spot Florida my son was approached by a young man about **dy’s age; he wanted to play tag with my son. That wasn’t the only the thing that sounded off alarms about pedophilia. Upon confronting him and then asking around, he was “high school harry” to some teen boys the night before. Trying to endear himself to guys that are too young to be his contemporaries. It’s nothing new. It sounds like **dy is cut from the same cloth. More than a screw loose…

That is cool. I have a couple of relatives that are serving on different carriers right now. I forgot which ones.

The rumor is he and his sister demanded a guaranteed amount of playing time a game...the rumor I saw was 30 minutes a game...obviously it didn't go like he wanted.
