Electric guitar seems like my easy choice, but steel lap guitar and hammered dulcimer are calling from the depths of my soul.

As a parent and a teacher being a master at the world's smallest violin would be awesome

Art don't interest me much, but digital real estate is booming (and sometimes busting) and interesting.

If you could instantly become a master musician, what instrument would it be?

Electric guitar seems like my easy choice, but steel lap guitar and hammered dulcimer are calling from the depths of my soul.

Synthesizer.

Maybe a large Moog synth or Ableton Push. If you can master those, you have entire albums at your fingertips unlike any single instrument can create. It would be like mastering every single instrument at once, from large church organs to electric guitar, drums, and everything in between.

Cool story bro time….. I work at a SNF and we have a resident that has advanced dementia… he can barely feed himself….. transfer….. follow directions…….Sit him in front of a piano and he plays like he is 30 years old.

That was my great grandma. She was 105 and she'd be killing it on the piano for the entire retirement home to hear. But she didn't even know her own name.

Curious - have you ever gave this patient a set of headphones with music from their time period? I always loved this story:
