Man...I hope I have the same level of comfort as some of you that have recently lost your fathers. We found out last Saturday dad has pancreatic cancer, right now just focusing on getting time with him as much as I can and trying to help with whatever him and mom ask of me. He's only 59 and has been in good health until here recently.
My father-in-law and I would just cruise around when he got his cancer diagnosis. He loved cars, beer and wings. When he was on his death bed in the hospital, he told me I wish me and you could just have one more beer together. So I went and bought us a couple snuck them into the hospital and we had a last beer in the about a week before he passed. I'll never forget it.

My dad lived in Scotland and passed suddenly. I wish we could just go do a trip together and enjoy each others company one last time. We didn't have a great relationship through the years but I forgave a lot and decided to just talk with him about it. He apologized and 2 weeks before he died, we had an hour long phone conversation about life one morning before I walked into work. I regret so much about harboring those feelings.

Say everything you never said and enjoy every moment, you will never regret that. My prayers are going out for you and your family.

Was over there the other day, just me and dad. Talking about the Vols and then we had a good conversation. Definitely gives me some peace knowing I said the things I've wanted to say. Grew up poor and rarely got to do much together. Seemed like we'd have a few fun trips each year. Sometimes getting to be on the lake a few weekends in the summer, sometimes seeing the races at the local dirt track. Never appreciated it enough as a kid, didn't realize just how much of a struggle those things were for him and mom to pull off until becoming a father myself. So we talked a bit about that. Reminisced together and cried together. Said my piece, heard his advice and told him how lucky and proud I am he's my dad.

He's never been much for those sort of conversations though...don't know if we'll get another chance to have one again.

City of Waverly is suing CSX for the flood that killed 20 people and destroyed most of the town.

CSX failed to clear debris behind the culvert/bridge for YEARS and it backed up. That backup inevitably caused the build up of floodwaters and consequential tidal wave. Should be interesting to see what happens given how powerful CSX is.

Went and looked at DraftKings bets for Make/Miss the cut for Masters bets when I saw Tiger is playing, but didn’t really love the odds.

-115 for Tiger to make the cut
+100 for Tiger to miss the cut

I was going to put some money down for him making the cut but don’t think the juice is worth the squeeze there.
