War in Ukraine

With that said, there has undoubtedly been plenty of fake stuff shared over twitter. You always have to make an effort to separate the wheat from the chaff. I try my best to validate sources before I either share them on here or believe in them. I don't take anything at face value.

Here's Putin walking down the street to show his.. pblpblpblpblpbl.... Mustard on the collar.

Here's Putin Meeting with his cabinet of yes men.... pblpblpblpblpbl.... Mustard on the head.

Most plausible to me is a mix of all three happening: Russians killed some, Ukrainians killed some, Ukrainians used the bodies that Russians killed (maybe in shelling, etc) and used them as well as fake props to claim even greater atrocities.

If you are looking for angels here, you are looking in the wrong place. There are plenty of innocents but no angels.
With what Putin has already said, and now with what russian state media is saying about ukrainians I'm not sure why anyone would doubt whats happening. Just look at videos of russians talking about what should be done with Ukraine. Its ****in ugly ****, and its been an ongoing effort for years to set this up.

There might not be angels, but to suggest this is anything close to a "both sides" situation is ridiculous.

I think saying "both sides" is quite reasonable actually - now both sides "equally"? No.

Russia can talk about Nazis and foreign powers meddling in Eastern Ukraine but last I checked Kyiv is not in Eastern Ukraine. Russia lost the messaging war when it went with a widescale invasion right off the bat.

Anyone supporting or cheering these seizures needs to understand that if our government can seize the property and assets of foreign nationals located in foreign countries without due process what’s going to stop them from doing that to you?
hell they already do that ****

What the heck are you talking about? It isn't the 20th century anymore. You guys keep acting like we're "brainwashed" by Western media or whatever, which isn't true.

Did you miss the last 2 years of Covid hysteria? People are MORE easily brainwashed today than those in the 20th century and social media makes it even easier.

No, definitely not a both sides issue. When it comes to war crimes in this fight, Ukraine easily takes the cake.

They didnt. Phase 1 has been well described at this point. There was only the appearance of widescale invasion to hold Ukrainian forces in place so Russia could focus on key areas without Ukraine being able to reinforce those areas.

Sure that is what Russia is claiming now but it does seem a tad convenient to explain away what could be disastrous early planning failures. Even so it would be a massive miscalculation and strategic blunder, which better allowed the EU and USA to paint them as vilians and impose sanctions. Had it been an early feint and then rolling a ton into Eastern Ukraine, I doubt we would even be discussing "the war in the Ukrain" and we would be paying little attention to it as we have since 2014

Right, Russia faked a huge invasion making them look dumb and incompetent so they could liberate areas they already controlled.

That's a high claim there, skippy - might want a dose of evidence with it

There is no comparison to the torture and death done by Azov. Again, still holding out on details from Bucha. If Russia did in fact do that, then I'll reevaluate.

Exiled Russian oligarch says Putin went 'insane' after Ukrainians did not welcome his invasion and 'meet him with flowers' like he anticipated
"At first, what he wanted was to change the power in Kyiv, put in his puppet, and was expecting that this would be met with flowers thrown in the streets by Ukrainian people," Mikhail Khodorkovsky, the former CEO of the Russian oil giant Yukos, told CNN's Fareed Zakaria on Sunday.
He told Zakaria that when Ukrainians resisted the invasion, Putin went crazy.

The US/NATO was going to paint them as that anyway. If Russia was really going to try and invade Ukraine with the the initial goal of taking Kiev and a couple of other big cities, they would have likely needed a good portion of most of their fighting forces...or completely level those cities. I think their Phase 1 strategy was brilliant and they pulled it off relatively well (definitely far from perfect).

They already killed the Nazis in an earlier battle and were claiming victory so there must be millions of Nazis in Ukraine killing their own people. Thousands of Ukrainians have returned to their home country to fight for a government that slaughters its own people. Meanwhile a nation that has a long, glorious history of killing its own people and millions in Ukraine is invading said country and is doing the Lord’s work there. It is so clear to me now!!

Maybe we have been looking at this too closely from our own perspective. Maybe the Russian version (at least Pootin's) is far simpler ... Ukrainian = Nazi. So much more simple than trying to sort things out - or justify a statement.

I’m guessing this is the time we don’t believe the Russian?

Right, Russia faked a huge invasion, the media got it wrong, you believed them and thus you are wrong. So, what are you going to do about it?
