I can only imagine their fan reaction. It was awful enough when we didn't qualify last time. Turn that up ten-fold and it must be deafening in Italy rn.

Fact is that it’s a hard sell (NIL or no) to sell a kid with options that OTHERS get a full ride and he has to buy his own books and pay a hefty tuition out of pocket.

But it can be in his NIL contract for the company to pay your tuition, room and board. It might even be better than a scholarship. It can be guaranteed for 4 years. A scholarship is year to year and can be revoked.

Scholarships haven't been year to year since 2015, in the Power 5 (Autonomous 5) conferences.

While they can still be taken away, ofc, it has to take someone breaking one of the scholarship agreements to trigger it. It takes a lot.

I’m saying ego and value is going to take the higher rated players out of this equation. If you’re choosing between two schools and one offers a full ride AND NIL opps and the other just NIL? We’re dealing with alphas in an alpha sport.
