I'll be waiting for the gift baskets and apologies from the "Mike Farrell deserves to be an analyst for Rivals" crowd. Or deserves a job in general. Or acts like something other than a jealous, little girl. Or is something other than a giant piece of human excrement. One of the above.

It’s amazing the difference between the hype of todays team compared to those great teams of the 90’s….. I went to a regional….. had super cheap tickets….. sat where I wanted to sit…. for a team that had at least three future pros on it. Now….. you can hardly get tickets to a Wednesday night game.

I think COVID & Beer sales are part of the reason for baseball being sold out more often now. Cause most people are willing to get out in the world again...but an outdoor event is likely preferred to an indoor one, and then nothing is better than having a few cold beers on a nice day watching the Vols.

Success is also part of it, but left that out since you're comparing great teams from the 90s to today's teams. MLB games are a blast to be at live, even if you're not a fan of either team. Part of that is being able to sit in beautiful weather enjoying the day and drinking.

Hey. I do not have a death wish. I do not partake of any of the devil's lettuce, let alone a lethal dose like 2.5 marijuanas! Crazy pills!
I'll never forget the day that came up.. somebody else that would never partake was involved in that convo as well... believe it was nick

Its What made it so funny

I posted this in the other form but wanted to hear recruiting form opinions.

Think about this. You load up on as many great transfers as you can get on your initial 25.
Then how many over the 25 you want to take with high school kids you make them preferred walkons. The NIL deal they signed pays for school and gives them a salary. You can take as 35-40 per year and still be under the 85 with all of the walkons. The school isn’t paying the scholarship their NIL is.

coverage. the SECN has put baseball, softball, and other sports out there like never before so the attention it gets is in kind. they have shows, daily, that cover all SEC sports so the average fan that doesn't have any affiliation with the school, o/t being a fan of the football team, gets exposed to the other sports.

i went to TN in the early/mid 90's and i can count on one had how many women's basketball, men's basketball, and baseball games i went to.

women's bball, that's just shame on me. that was our hay day and i just didn't go. men's bball, we sucked. baseball and softball, just didn't care. but the few baseball games i did go to, i had a good time.

but i told my kids the other day....if you put an orange T on it, and we're good at it, i'm for it!! so success matters too. you don't get the coverage in some of those sports if you're' not good at it...so don't mis understand me. it's a combination of all that. but we were good at baseball for a couple years i was there, and attendance or hype was non existent.

plus we were awesome at football, so we weren't as thirsty as a fanbase for winners elsewhere on campus.

after the last 15 years.....TN fans, self included, want winners. period. rubgy, corn hole, hockey, softball, golf, baseball, softball....whatever. we'll take it. and be proud of it.

Kids want to be recruited. They want to take official visits and be courted. Sounds like a great plan but unrealistic in the long run.

Just a quick morning observation. I don't understand how people will brag about not seeing a classic film. It's two hours of your life to watch art. Especially films from the 70s where the director first broke out and held control of their vision for the first time in history. So much to experience even if you didn't enjoy what you saw you can then at least be better informed and that always helps form your taste. It's like going through a museum and not looking at the Goya exhibit because you don't have time as you have to rake leaves later. Take the time. Film is one of the purest expressions of emotion our culture possesses. Treasure it.

They can still be recruited and still have officials. The rule says you can’t take an official visit then show up and be put on scholarship. These kids wouldn’t. The NIL
Pays it. You can come visit 500 times and still be a preferred walkon.
