Just found out that my wife and I will be having a little girl. First child coming this fall! Dads with daughters.. hit me up with some advice if you feel led.

First of all, congratulations! Second of all, never place your kids before your wife. She should always remain number 1. Not saying to neglect your kids but your wife should never take a back seat. Your daughter will see how you treat your wife and know that you love her. Thirdly, be engaged at all levels of development. Spend time with your daughter. Good quality time. Read with her. Play with her. Take her on Daddy/Daughter dates. Don't spoil her but make sure she knows that she is worthy and deserving of respect. Finally, enjoy the ride and don't blink. I have three daughters, all teenagers now. Some days I look around trying to figure out where my little girls went. It may not seem like it at first but in the blink of an eye she will be a young lady. Don't take a single minute for granted. Congratulations again! So exciting!

I recently had a buddy at work tell me he never watched Westerns growing up (which is UnAmerican) so I prescribed a strict diet of John Wayne and Clint Eastwood fare. He is no an addict watching every western he can get his hands on. I’ve now got him watching Justified.

Even a Bug's Life was based on Seven Samurai.

Ok, people say this is sacreligious, but I think Pacino is overrated and G3 proves it out for me. He was EXCELLENT in G1 and 2 but then he became the overacting, over the top Pacino I can’t stand.

So. On to Godfather 3, where the subtle, thinking character of Michael Corleone has now become overactor, over the top Pacino. It’s like they just threw away all his character development. Garbage.

Btw, CONGRATS! Being a dad is a blessing! Try to enjoy every moment with her, because you never know if it may be the only child you can have.

That last sentence is so true. My wife was a labor and delivery nurse for ten years. There is much more heartache in having children than many realize. Makes each one a true blessing. We’ve been on both sides.
