Which is the main reason why we don't need to be provoking a nuclear power and causing chaos on their borders. This is a regional matter. Let them handle it. It is a far better chance that it will stay conventional if you don't have to worry about two superpowers clashing. I seriously doubt that Europe evens wants a war if the US isn't going to be involved... even if you do have France or Britain with nukes of their own. So the only other option they would have is diplomacy. Us getting involved will only up the threat level.

2. Again, I don't hold Russian leaders to the same standard as American leaders. We have a higher standard that we desperately need to be trying to achieve

Russia did what any other country in this world would have done in the same situation. They caught the US staging and orchestrating a coup in a bordering country.

Do you really think calling me a hypocrite with regards to this issue is a big deal to me? I've already rationalized all of this and I have come to the understanding that we live in a complex world with complex situations. Not every solution is going to be easy. And not every ally is going to be squeaky clean.

Without debating your stance as valid or not, people in the workforce at the working end are basically doing so at the direction of administrators and bureaucrats who set policy. Assuming your feelings are correct, you are targeting the wrong people. Most of us are always operating at the discretion of policy makers, and a lot of us see policymakers as what is wrong with systems - government and corporate; too isolated by too many layers to ever understand the operating basics. There are few legitimate corporate leaders who built the corporation they run ... most are slick talking hired guns looking for short term profit; and there are virtually no real leaders anywhere in government.

I saw that last night. I'd bet it was intentional and that there was at least a wingman without the transponder transmitting with that F-15. It was orbiting between an orbiting tanker and the Ukrainian border. The real question is what are all the tankers over eastern Europe refueling. B-52s have been active for the last couple of days, too. Two of those are over western Europe - looking like they are returning to bases in England.
