We showed good effort….. Barnes didn’t adjust to what they were doing…They kept setting the same screen up too and we couldn’t decide how to defend it…. They burnt us over and over again….. then when they would post the big guy up down low….. we couldn’t decide to double or where from…. It caused our rotations to be slow leaving guys open.
As for the three point shooting…. Michigan did a really good job pushing us off the three point line…… even when we got open looks…. We felt pressure even if it wasn’t there causing us to miss our shots.

Michigan targeted and shut down Vescovi. That really disrupted our offense. Credit Howard (or one of his assistants) for coming up with a good gameplan. We didn't have a counter.

It's what happened in the Texas game, I think. Usually Vescovi can get away with his conditioning and speed, but it wasn't happening then. Other players were off (with exception of Chandler) Just a bad night. I think we win if we played again.

It was the best way to beat us, it only works if the others have an off night...we had an off night.

And yet, if all the other guys don't go ice cold...we win. It was a good gamble, but it only worked because JJJ and the other guys had a bad night. If they don't go ice cold, then we are sitting here calling it a stupid game plan.


JJJ in particular had been shooting great for weeks. He just had a bad night.

Part of the reason they went ice cold is because they disrupted our offense. We can speculate on a million "if ands, or buts", but at the end of the night, Michigan played their game and we didn't play ours.

And I'm not knocking Coach Barnes in anyway by saying that. Anyone blaming the loss completely on Coach Barnes is an idiot. You win as a team, you lose as a team.

Funny I wonder if any of the teams that Arkansas or St Peters beat were a “horrible matchup?” Why do some continue to make excuses for Barnes failing yet again in the tourney?

Michigan was not the better team than we were. They were a 14 loss team. They were 7th in the B10. We should not have lost to them.

Why can you not let it go. Enjoy the baseball team, enjoy Spring practice, enjoy the USMNT.

They played good defense...we still win if we just hit 30%. You guys acting like they suffocated the hell out of is ridiculous.

What I have been saying ever since the game is..it wasn't anybodies fault, we just had one of those games...that's just basketball.

Other teams did that to us during the season, but got run off the floor when we hit shots the next time we faced them.
