How the hell can anyone justify this #1 ranking? Have they scored a ****ing point yet?

Talking to a buddy tonight about Miss State's struggles this year compared to last year's team.

Last year's team, he said, could scratch out 3 runs and may not score again but that would be enough because their bullpen was so deep and talented. This year, they lost all their best pitchers, their best backups transfers last year, and their best pitchers have already gotten Tommy John this season. But, their underclassmen are sluggers. It's the complete opposite of last year.

Of course, as I was sure to inform him, the Vols have a lethal combination of hitting and pitching. We are leading or Top 5 in the country in every hitting and pitching category basically. Leading the country in home runs by a mile. Leading the country in ERA.

They lost a lot from last year, and their best pitcher this year got hurt 2 weeks ago and is out for the year. I think they lost another pitcher after that.
