I keep seeing the argument that he's had great coaches under him -- yet none of them seem to be able to beat him. If anything, I think he may be an UNDERRATED game manager. He does the other parts of the job so well, the game day decision making tends to get swept under the rug.

I hope we have his doppelganger with Heupel. Time will tell.

I said he was a great coach, forgive me if I don't slurp at the altar of Saban. Give him equal talent, and there are a lot of others just as good...fact.

Lots of turdmunchers too...turdmunchers that think every last thought they have is a brilliant nugget of wisdom that everybody should get to read, and that is not taking into account the legion of just pure negavol a******s that are in there on a daily basis.

I'll say this much - there's research that he develops 5 stars better than others.

I thought there was a possible hole in the theory and sought to see if evidence disproved it. Unfortunately, I couldn't do it. The hole I was expecting simply wasn't there.

Then there are teams like OSU...UGA...teams that supposedly had equal talent the last 5-6 years. They couldn't do anything near what Saban has. Even Clemson (at times I've put Dabo ahead of Saban as a pure/non-recruiting coach and maybe he still is) has fallen off some, which Saban has really never done. Over the length of time, it's pretty incredible really.

It pains me to even type all this, but it does seem he isn't merely a top recruiter and program builder, but also developer and schemer.

It is what it is. He won't be around forever.
