It’s really kind of funny. I made a joke post about Hubbs that read “so this proves Hubbs is a liar #sad.” Some dude took that seriously and got in his feels over there because of it so Hubbs addressed it on the podcast lolI'm sure I'm not the only one to mention this, but I just listened to the VQ podcast from Monday and shoutout to @Bassmaster_Vol for being such a pest that they felt they had to address his criticisms about AP's trip to Disneyland. Keep keeping them honest, Bass!
And there it is. "This shouldn't be hard to understand." It's really not. "Heupel is looking for a quality OC.". Does this or does this not imply that the OC that is currently in place (and doing a damn fine job) ISN'T quality?? Thereby directly "poking fun" at Golesh?? This shouldn't be hard to understand......
Calm down killer.Tell me what I missed in "Heupel is looking for a quality OC". Did I miss that that is a slap in the face to the quality OC we already have?? Did I miss where dude's a moron for thinking that Heupel would trade Golesh for Kiffin?? Tell me what I missed, wise one.
HUGE.3 points on Sunday essentially puts us at like 98% chance of qualifying. Costa Rica would have to win their next two games by a plus 7 margin to overtake us. So beating Panama Sunday is huge.
Now, 3 points Sunday and a Costa Rica draw/loss means get ready to pop the champagne, we qualify with a game left!![]()
Isn't that part of his brilliance, though? Maintaining the will to succeed while rallying recruits, parents, boosters, and administration (and some say the league) to fanatically follow his path. I'm not sure how he stays on point day-in and day-out at 70 years old.He is a good coach. He has a whole gigantic statewide system that is completely dedicated to doing what he wants, even local and national media, plus getting favored treatment and officiating by the SEC.
I agree he has done a great job of managing all that, and mostly by not getting satisfied and lazy, and maintaining personal discipline. He is a unique individual in that way.
He is the best overall college coach for those reasons, but he has never been and never will be the best football mind.
If Saban had to deal with the divided support from top to bottom that nearly every other coach in college sports has to put up with...he would just be another good coach.
