Hawley and Blackburn have left out context, and pertinent facts in their attacks on Judge Jackson's record. That link clearly points that out.

You aren't comprehending. You said they voted for judges that had similar sentences. Your article doesn't address those at all. Since you are making the claim that judges they voted for made similar judgements, I ask you what are the cases you are referring to?

LOL. You are only attacking one of the many factors at work here. Hawley and Blackburn have clearly misrepresented Judge Jackson's record on sentencing child porn offenders.

It is also fair to point out that both Hawley and Blackburn have voted to confirm judges with virtually identical histories of sentencing child porn offenders. Why only make an issue out of this during Jackson's hearing then? That's easy. She was nominated by a Democrat.

When will Reps fabricate a witness to lie about what Jackson did in high school? Until that happens you have no moral high ground to stand on in regards to how Reps are handling this.

The Judges in question, are Judge Joseph Bianco, Judge Andrew Brasher and Judge Carl Nichols. They were all 3 nominees to the federal judiciary under President Donald Trump, who Sen. Josh Hawley voted to confirm. Sen. Hawley now claims to have been unaware of their sentencing history, but that is a weak excuse, even if true. As a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, it is his job to scrutinize such records. At the very least, Sen. Hawley is guilty of a double standard with how closely he will scrutinize the record of a nominee under a Republican president versus how carefully he will scrutinize a nominee from a Democratic president.

Georgetown Day School’s Board of Trustees, of which Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson is a member, plays a “critical” role in the implementation of critical race theory at the school, despite Jackson testifying to the opposite.

While being questioned by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) about Georgetown Day School’s curriculum being steeped in critical race theory, Jackson said the ideology was only taught in law schools and that the board she sits on “does not control the curriculum.”

Despite this, documents from the school show an intense push to implement “anti-racist” ideology — a term used to surreptitiously refer to critical race theory — with the guidance of the Board of Trustees.

“We have begun planning for ways in which the Board can play its critical role in ensuring that we fulfill the GDS mission and for ways in which the Board can serve as a source of oversight and accountability for the important work to be done,” a July 17 letter from Board chair Lisa Fairfax and head of school Russell Shaw says. “We understand that the Board must be engaged in this work.” [Emphasis in original].

Fairfax introduced Jackson to the Senate as nomination proceedings began.

The “important work” referred to in the letter included a wide variety of reforms, including “concerns about curriculum.”

After having reviewed “painful personal experiences” from current and former students, parents, and faculty “who identify as Black” posted on the “BlackatGDS” Instagram page, the Fairfax and Shaw felt obligated to “acknowledge that pain and take action.” They also apologized.

Interestingly, portraying non-white persons as inherent victims — or, “oppressed” — in American society is a key tenet of critical race theory. In this portion of Georgetown Day School’s plan, the “anti-racism work” appears to be focused on both requiring white persons to acknowledge some role in perpetuating a racist society and creating “affinity groups” for black students, families, and staff.

An “affinity group” is a pet name proponents of critical race theory have given to segregation — typically racial — as they are focused on exclusively bringing together persons based on immutable characteristics.

Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) had another theatrical moment on Wednesday, breaking into tears at the confirmation hearing for Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson.

When questioning Ketanji Jackson, Booker said he would not let anyone in the senate steal from him the joy he feels over the nomination of the first black woman to the Supreme Court. He said this in response to the litany of questions that Republicans had directed at the judge regarding her alleged leniency on child pornography.

“You got here how every Black woman in America who’s gotten anywhere has done. Like Ginger Rogers said, ‘I did everything Fred Astaire did, but backwards and in heels,’” he said. “Nobody’s stealing my joy.” He also stated, “I’m in my joy; I can’t help it.”

Later in the proceeding, a choked-up Booker told Ketanji Brown, who was also fighting back tears, that he becomes “full of emotion” when he looks at her.
