The Supreme Court of the United States Thread

I would like to hear their understanding and thoughts on the Constitution. I think their opinions on why the framers came to the compromises and what was the intention behind would be important. Maybe their thoughts on recent decisions or controversial decisions. Or, how they attempt to balance their constitutional role without over reaching.

Come on man, Rocky has already informed us that knowledge of the constitution isn't part of lawyer school or a requirement for a federal judge. They just have to know how to use google.

I listened to it myself. She didn't have a satisfactory answer.

Other judges doing it, is inconsequential. If they were up for SCOTUS, they should get ripped equally. In fact, they should all be ripped right now for it. I don't have beef with that.

Anyone that hears these sentences should be appalled. Each picture is a child that was abused and a creation of a scar unimaginable for a lifetime.
You clearly didn't read any of the links. Her record on sentencing child porn offenders has been misrepresented by both Hawley and Blackburn.

She didn't defend her choice to ignore the federal, and prosecution suggested but listen to the unofficial probation suggestion

She called Hawkins amount of child porn egregious but have 3 months and he reoffended later... she didn't defend any of that...

Read those links!

Her record has been misrepresented. You are focusing only on the hearing. The focus should be on the facts, concerning her true record involving child porn sentencing.

So if he reoffended later can we assume she's not a good Judge of character? I'll be here all week, and remember to tip your servers well.....

The Facts on Judge Jackson’s Sentencing in Child Porn Cases - FactCheck.org

@whodeycin85 and @utvols88 ,

If you only click on one of those links, let it be this one. It is the most detailed and thorough examination of Judge Jackson's record on child porn sentencing. Factcheck.org is a nonprofit and nonpartisan site.
The probation office isn't the decider of sentencing. It was way below federal guidelines and the prosecution. I couldn't give two ***** if some boobs at the probation office also made bad recommendations. Those idiots should also be admonished. These punishments for child porn are unacceptable.

Speaking of probation offices, that information is being blocked by the chair.

The reasoning of the probation office and the judges decision have not been provided even though each have been requested. Acting like the probation office is the ****ing oracle is a dumb argument.

LOL. You are only attacking one of the many factors at work here. Hawley and Blackburn have clearly misrepresented Judge Jackson's record on sentencing child porn offenders.

It is also fair to point out that both Hawley and Blackburn have voted to confirm judges with virtually identical histories of sentencing child porn offenders. Why only make an issue out of this during Jackson's hearing then? That's easy. She was nominated by a Democrat.

I don't think the issue with the sentencing is misrepresented. It's clearly an issue.

What are the cases that the other voted judges ruled on?

One of the many factors at work? Ok. Since you clearly agree with the sentencing, why are they so low? Justify them.

Then you didn't read the factcheck.org article. It covered every specific case in question. The article answers all of your questions. Read the damn thing and learn something! Hawley and Blackburn have left out context, and pertinent facts in their attacks on Judge Jackson's record. That link clearly points that out.
