Big game for US Soccer tonight. A win at Azteca would not only be epic just because of the history but would put us in prime position to qualify. Going to be tough, hope they’re ready!
I'm ready...

March Madness games will be a decent warmup, but NOTHING (outside UT) compares to US vs El Tri!! The greatest rivalry there is.

Maybe because Spyre wants full rights.

Easy...just add here's our money...you can still get deals from xyz company (which they will anyway, so it's a moot point).

It takes away Spyre as the sole NiL source. But they'll still be a massive piece of the pie compared to shoe companies. No way in heck Adidas is paying $8mm to 32 5*s lol.
No it doesn't. It's an ADDITIONAL avenue of NIL money. Like if Alontae:s Cookies were a megacorporation. Spyre markets your brand and gets you paid from MULTIPLE sources.

Too make this NIL without pay to play, it is probably Spyre being the exclusive NIL deal broker for kids signing with him. This is how kids are prevented from going somewhere else to play and also why we hearing of 350k sigNing bonus with up to 8mil payout.

Spyre isn't one guy.

I think we're in agreement.

I was just trying to guess what the writer was thinking in how it would dampen Spyre's deal. But I don't see how it does.

It would still be better to take the Spyre deal imo than, say signing away exclusive rights to Adidas/Nike. Spyre would just manuever as a middle man, while also offering them a much bigger overall deal...because we're not worried about roi, unlike those public companies.

Exactly. No way Spyre ignores that route.

The shoe companies just set a new baseline for a lot of kids, but our premium is still there and it is biiig.
It'll only be problematic if the apparel companies somehow involve themselves with choosing which school to go to.

Note they may have advice/data that they can share with prospects on their marketability in one place v another so that'll be something to pay attention to..

I don't even think that's Adidas aim. They want the affiliation...not the headache of agency.

In basketball, NBA players have always hawked their own shoes and apparel. The NFL has an official product but, but individual players had their own deals. Never forget Walter Payton sporting around those Roos swag off the field and covering the bouncy effer with tape on. I think you'll have signed Adidas athletes at Nike and Under Armour et al schools and vice versa. The NIL enables that without conflicting with university shoe contracts.

I posted this in 2019...I consider it my artistic masterpiece.
