Recruiting Forum Football Talk IV

There is an interesting question I was kind of mulling over recently, that I'd be curious what your thoughts are:

With perhaps Tennessee Basketball's best team bounced from March Madness early (yet again), what do you have more faith happens first?

- Tennessee Football Makes the College Football Playoff National Championship Game
- Tennessee Basketball Makes the Final Four
- Tennessee Baseball Makes the College World Series - Championship Series (i.e. Final 2 out of 3 between last 2 teams)

Emotions are high on football after the Nico commitment, and low on basketball after another early exit. I have a feeling of what I think people's general thoughts will be, but I was curious if it matches reality. I know where I stand, but I'll hold off on that for a minute.

The other two options, a deep March Madness run and making the CFP Championship Game legit come down to one game. Baseball you get the "best of" series to help off-set some one game woes. Those same woes in the other two send you home.

Baseball is easily the closest IMO. Football is on a nice path, but still 2 to 3 years away at best. March Madness is such a crapshoot, and while we have a puncher's chance any given year Barnes just doesn't have tourney success. Baseball already made the first step with ease and we appear even better this year. TV gonna reload that team and always be a legit threat every year.

This is my thought as well. I need to see a better defense for me to believe football can make that leap. Vitello has baseball ROLLING and his best recruiting classes aren’t even on campus yet (2023/2024 are STACKED). I’m fairly confident Vitello is going to win a national title at some point in the next 5-10 years. Can’t say I’m anywhere near as confident about the other two….yet.

I think baseball is the easy option here because you get 2 chances to lose. I could see this year's team making it. But I don't like easy, so Barnes gets his **** together and makes a FF.

So the silver lining of Rucker, Burrell, Hadden, and Turnage all being out for Spring Practice is that you basically force the other young guys Dee Williams, Christian Charles, Tamarion McDonald, and Doneiko Slaughter to get more reps against the 1s on offense.
It's hard to believe they're all hurt but let's hope they're not out for grade issues

Man what a great week, outside of Vols bball losing. Vols get Nico and my Dolphins get top OT Terron Armstead and Tyreek Hill!

Let’s goooooo!

Now let’s just hope McDaniel can get the best out of Tua. He doesn’t need to be Mahomes, he just needs to be better than he has been.

Jaylen Waddle x Tyreek Hill
Speed on top of Speed 💨💀

30,000,000 dollars a year for a receiver….. are the dolphins insane?

Devante Adams makes about 28M/year
Deandre Hopkins makes about 27.2M/year

It’s the going rate for a top 3 WR. I doubt it works out to be exactly 30M/year, every year, but it’ll be the top WR contract slightly above Adams.
