They are just pissed that their monopoly on paying recruits is broken. Their basement-roof cheating system is what enabled them and a very few others to dominate college football.

Saban is a good coach, but he doesn't win most of his titles without that system backing him.

The thing I love about the Nico deal (if $8 million for him is true) is that it sets the bar for other schools to match if they want top tier talent and proves Tennessee is serious.

It separates the contenders from the pretenders. Some will pony up the money and the others will become mostly irrelevant.
