TN played a good game overall in a tough battle vs a team that has top 10 talent. Auburn and Ky just flat out got embarrassed TN just couldn’t hit their open shots. It had nothing to do with being ready like the other two

And they were a "preseason" top 4 team--just underachieved. It may be they play better without that point guard that got hurt.

Juwan had a pretty young team, 7 freshmen in total 2 of which ended up being regular starters and Dickinson is just a Sophomore himself. He had lost 5 seniors off that Elite Eight team...weird team dynamic. They were over seeded going into the season (cause of what all they lost) and they played a tough schedule. Didn't really deserve to be in the dance based on what they did during the season, but it appears Juwan pulled a Cal and got the talent playing well at the right time. We'll see if they show up for the Villanova game or not.

So SEC bball was pretty garbage this year

It’s all about matchups in the tournament.

I just posted this in a bball thread. The SEC had out of conference wins against the top 5 in KenPom- Arizona, Gonzaga, Baylor, Houston, and Kansas.

It also had at least 17 out of conference wins against tournament teams- UNC (twice), Memphis (twice), Ohio State, Miami, Notre Dame, Richmond, Murray State, UAB, South Dakota State, Jacksonville State in addition to Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Wake Forest, etc.

The SEC was a very good conference.

Bruce Pearl was way outcoached tonight. Terrible. If you go by the tournament, doesn't seem that ACC basketball is down this year at all. I thought that Duke was overrated, but now not sure.

Duke is a weak 2 seed.

Yea looking back at it Michigan wasn’t a good matchup. I truly thought we’d cruise to a win when I first saw them. But then I saw they’re one of the best teams in the country at preventing assists and pretty good at locking down your top shooter, and if we aren’t assisting we aren’t scoring. When I saw that I got nervous and I knew we didn’t have anyone that could handle Dickinson

Michigan's record is a mirage. They are a lazy sandbagging team with a crapton of talent...all that being said, if we just don't go cold outside..we win the game.

Well, they're also airing the women's tournament while CBS and affiliates have the men's tournament. That probably plays into it.

I guess the sec sucks.

No it doesn't, but there was no powerhouse team this year. The top four all had big flaws. We had the ability to win it all if we could just continue shooting from outside consistently well and not having so many cold streaks. The team had done a remarkable job of improving that over the season. They just hit a slump against a good team that played well enough to take advantage.

It was also a bad matchup for us physically, but bad matchup or not, we would have won yesterday with just a mediocre 3 pt shooting game.
