So let’s see if I get this right.

1. The refs were a big reason we lost. But in our big wins, they didn’t really factor in. It was just great coaching and playing.

2. We had a bad shooting night.

3. Barnes has zero blame for this loss. It was all on the players.

4. Barnes is a HOF coach and is completely immune for criticism.

5. If you criticize Barnes then you should just go pull for another team.

6. Barnes out coached Howard big time it just had to do with our shooting.

7. Even though Barnes has a long history of choking in March, this loss isn’t that big of a deal.

8. The NCAA seeding was yet another big issue for us. Michigan is such a bad matchup for us and we didn’t beat any teams better than them.

Sound about right?

I didn’t see anything wrong with the way the game was officiated today.

I quit watching with 10 minutes left because I got nervous. But I thought it was called differently on each end. On one possession where we got the 2 offensive rebounds, Plavsic had to get mugged for the call and there were at least 2 fouls before it.

They let heavy contact go at the rim and then call Vescovi on a touch foul on Dickinson’s post up. The game is just poorly officiated. It is what it is.

You just choose to ignore it. There were definitely mentions of the officiating when we beat UK in the SEC semis. But that doesn’t fit your narrative. The college officiating has sucked for several years now…win, lose, or draw. You can write that in stone. But the conference doesn’t care to fix it.

Basketball is officiated regionally. It's not a conference thing. They all travel.

They put us in a bracket against Michigan bc they didn’t think we could handle them…. That seems like a huge stretch…. We should have whipped this team.
We should have handled Michigan. Played inside out, gotten their big white boy in foul trouble, hit 3's... all the usuals. Unfortunately we made them look like geniuses. It's crazy to me. Did we not know that #1 existed before tonight? Did we think we could just do the thing where we pass the ball around the perimeter the whole possession and eventually someone would be open? Our whole plan is crazy to me.

So one of the big reasons we won the games we did is because of bad officiating that favored us?

How? He had an arm bar on Uros while Uros was trying to shoot and they call an offensive foul away from the action on Vescovi. They weren't calling Dickenson (?) or whatever his name was for anything and if we got near him we got called (didn't even have to touch him).

You are pointing to 2-3 possessions from an entire game.

They chose to eliminate our perimeter offense and emphasize #1 for Michigan. Unfortunately we could not answer or counter their plan all game.

There is a pool of officials that the conference uses. They are independent contractors, so some cross-over to other conferences. But the same pool does the conference. Trust me, I have followed it for a bit.

Pat Adams, Doug Sirmons, Doug Shows, Tony Greene, Joe Lindsey, Don Dailey, Steven Anderson, K B Burnett, Mike Nance, Terry Oglesby, Bart Lenox, Owen Shortt…you will consistently see these names during conference games. They are all who the conference uses.

Whatever you want to try to say…but you refuse to understand that it sucks all the time. Good teams can overcome poor officiating. I’ve been saying it for many years now. Not just now. Let’s just ignore it and hope it goes away.
