John Schuerholz is beloved and rightly so for what he built, anybody else’s legacy would have been destroy for the Mark Texeira trade. We recharged the Rangers for two World Series runs and in return got a reluctant All-Star for part of a failed stretch run. Ended up getting a mediocre first baseman from the Angels the next season who was gone in two. THAT is bad. As we speak we’re better than we were last season. Still gotta play up to it, but this team is bigger than brand loyalty to any one player. Won’t be immediate but when all the sparks settle, I see an “amicable” parting of the ways between Freddie and his agent. He’s a leader and glue guy for your locker room and will produce hefty stats for at least two seasons. Enjoy. Started binging it on Netflix from the beginning. You miss nuances the first time around. Jerry’s parents were hilarious and remained so. Lot more subtle than George’s who emerged later in the series. Time has only made it more timeless. Futile rolling of the boulder up a hill for my man posting every minute on the minute last night.
I hope you’re right. I’ve gone through literally all the emotions with this game. I’ve imagined and felt how thrilling it would be to win, and I’ve imagined and felt how deflating it would be to lose. If I had to bet I’d bet on us, but I’ve still seen so much heartbreak as a Tennessee fan that it’s hard to be really confident.
