But it's not about the tourney for us and that needs to be known because people are acting like this team just caught a hot streak the same as AM and that's not true. They earned that 2 seed with the regular season - the tourney wins just made the slight even more glaring.

We beat Arizona--number one seed) We beat number 2 seed Kentucky twice, and Auburn (number 2 seed) but I'm thinking it's when we lost to teams like Villanova (number two seed) and Texas Tech in OT (number 3 seed) early in the year, we got penalized. So why should we play hard teams? We all know that the team we have now, is nothing like the one we started with at the beginning of the season. We have lots of freshman, who have improved.

Those losses shouldn't have hurt us at all. That's the problem. They simply ignored our resume because they wanted Duke in. We have more high quality wins and our losses are only to top teams. Duke's resume compared to ours is absurd.

Another thing... I would guess that Alabama's AD is the SEC monitor since he's on the comittee. Alabama got a 6 seed which is a bit high for them. I don't think he cut the legs out from under us but I wouldn't be surprised if he only pushed for Alabama's teams (including Auburn) and let the rest of us (including A&M) sink or swim without really lobbying for anyone else. The state of Alabama got a large number of teams in the tourney.

There's is 56th

Our total SOS is 4th

Theirs is 20th

Your search is in vain my friend. There's no reason other than Coach K is retiring. It was pure politics and human bias not metrics. Even our losses are better. That said, it wasn't bias against us so much as bias for Duke and Coach K as well as other teams.

Yeah, I keep hearing them comparing us to Wisconsin, but no mention of Duke who is far worse then Wisconsin or Tennessee. They are shielding him, it's obvious. They want the ratings-- trying their best to get him as far as possible in the tournament.

For those saying the tournament didn't matter, you're only partially correct. It didn't end up mattering in terms of our seeding for the NCAA tournament. But I'll be damned if we're going to say it didn't matter at all. Winning the SEC tournament is a big deal. That's a major accomplishment for this team and for Rick Barnes. Basketball is a tournament sport, and we won the tournament in the best and most competitive conference in basketball. In my mind, anything that we win in the NCAA tourney is just icing on top. This season has been a HUGE success.

I just hope this team is more focused on winning Thursday than all the naysayers out there. Cause even if the committee says it doesn't matter we're still SEC Tournament Champions baby!!!! WHOOOOOA

There’s only 2 teams in our path to the Elite 8 that have a defense, Loyola (#22) and Villanova (#28). We have the 3rd best defense in the entire tournament.. The next best defense other than these three in our bracket to the E8 is Colorado State at #83. Michigan stunk it up against Q1 teams though CSU didn't have any more Q1 wins than the Wolverines. Michigan's schedule has been far and away tougher than CSU. jmo.

You never know but it looks to me like we've got a good shot (on paper) no matter the opponent. jmo.

Thanks for the graph. Confirms the path to the EE is a good one.

The fight is against agendas and narratives. It's all in our guys' hands to get there as well as the FF subject to atrocious officiating like has happened in the past when we got close. This team is capable of winning it all. The team knows it, we know it and the corrupt forces against us know it. Which tells me Sankey and crew will be working overtime against us "helping" with the ref assignments. We will have to be better than the opponent and officials starting primarily in the SS.

They know they can beat Zona. Been there, done that, have a W, and are a much deeper, more developed team since it happened.

If our guys can elevate their play and energy beginning in the SS like we have seen at times during the season, not even the officials can stop them. The advantage we have is we can now adapt to different styles of play since they have such depth with their bigs. We've never had that. Great G play combined with JJJ at the #3

Agree totally! I think they couldn’t stomach the idea of 3 SEC schools at #2. Sankey should be fired for how badly this played out - or maybe he did his best and the lack of SEC representation on the committee is what caused this. Wonder if there’s a bit of a backlash because SEC is so dominant in football?

Cork and Cow is AWESOME. Stayed at The Hermitage there in downtown for our anniversary. We shared the Tomahawk steak, cocktails were top notch, we also split a bottle of champagne, and I avoided the Brussels sprouts like a man who wanted to make love to his wife later on… it worked. Y’all take notes.
