According to lunardi, who says head to head didn't matter,then what is the point of playing the games if the results are predestined based on whatever analytics say?

Cause I got scoreboards that say we're better.

3? 2? Meh. It isn’t that big of a deal. Calipari has it right: as long as you keep winning, it doesn’t matter.

This team has magic. If they can keep up the defense and knock down threes, they will do serious damage. I have to believe NO team wants to play the Vols right now.

But it does matter. There is an appreciable statistical difference between 2 and 3 seeds.

We deserve a 2 and we do not deserve to have to face worse odds. Jmo

People have to look at this in a much more broad way. There are 68 teams at play and a mikkion different combinations. H2H matchups aren't that meantingful (though yes the wins and losses still matter a ton...but not the H2H attribute itself).

Again, we played Texas ONCE. We played KY THREE times. There is no legitimate argument for KY being seeded higher.

Q2-Q4 teams aren't who you face in the tourney fwiw. I find that more of a thing at the bubble discussion anyway. Not a discussion I typically here for top seeds. People care if you can play up to competition, not if you'll play down...as that is a moot point with no "down" teams in it.


If we are talking UK (not sure why, because they are a top 2-seed...not the bottom 2-seed) they are a number of spots ahead on NET rankings. Also ahead on KenPom. And TeamRankings. Far behind on luck rankings. Margins...

You won't find any bracket predictor, nor metric site, that had us above them. And these are analytical, not subjective sites.

Just give it up making an argument against Kentucky. We should be trying to argue against maybe a Duke. Maybe a Purdue. UK started too far ahead of us. The committee isn't making kneejerk reactions over 1 game.

I’m asking why are they ahead in NET? Do they have more top 10 wins than us? How have they played up to the competition more than we have?

Talking UK vs UT. Us and Tamu, nor UK vs tamu was moving many needles. That said, it hopefully moved a tiny needle...I think that plus Duke/Purdue losses might just be enough.

UK was ahead regardless though.

Totally true. Kentucky would be a lock for a 2 and maybe a 1 if they had won the tournament. Just ignorance. Although, Shawn Farnham, Seth Greenberg, and Jimmy Dykes started the conversation about us being better than the other two.

Auburn is ahead of us in what? The polls? They're not ahead of us in the NET rankings. They're not ahead of us in Kenpom. So what are they ahead of us in? And like I said, we beat KY 2 out of 3 times. I get what you're saying. We will get screwed. But trying to justify it is a bunch of horse ****. It just is. There is no justification. We SHOULD absolutely be the highest seeded SEC team.
