But it does matter. There is an appreciable statistical difference between 2 and 3 seeds.3? 2? Meh. It isn’t that big of a deal. Calipari has it right: as long as you keep winning, it doesn’t matter.
This team has magic. If they can keep up the defense and knock down threes, they will do serious damage. I have to believe NO team wants to play the Vols right now.
Again, we played Texas ONCE. We played KY THREE times. There is no legitimate argument for KY being seeded higher. So are we behind Texas?
GAMES matter...just because it is "head to head" doesn't add value.
Even if you believe you have a leg up on a specific team, specific matchups aren't relevant when you each team is facing a random set of teams in the tournament.
People have to look at this in a much more broad way. There are 68 teams at play and a mikkion different combinations. H2H matchups aren't that meantingful (though yes the wins and losses still matter a ton...but not the H2H attribute itself).
We're better than UK and Auburn. If there's a 2 seed out of the SEC...WE should be on that line.So are we behind Texas?

I’m asking why are they ahead in NET? Do they have more top 10 wins than us? How have they played up to the competition more than we have?Q2-Q4 teams aren't who you face in the tourney fwiw. I find that more of a thing at the bubble discussion anyway. Not a discussion I typically here for top seeds. People care if you can play up to competition, not if you'll play down...as that is a moot point with no "down" teams in it.
If we are talking UK (not sure why, because they are a top 2-seed...not the bottom 2-seed) they are a number of spots ahead on NET rankings. Also ahead on KenPom. And TeamRankings. Far behind on luck rankings. Margins...
You won't find any bracket predictor, nor metric site, that had us above them. And these are analytical, not subjective sites.
Just give it up making an argument against Kentucky. We should be trying to argue against maybe a Duke. Maybe a Purdue. UK started too far ahead of us. The committee isn't making kneejerk reactions over 1 game.

Opinions aside, Auburn was contending for the #1 OVERALL just a couple weeks ago. Auburn and UK simply started out way too far ahead of us.We're better than UK and Auburn. If there's a 2 seed out of the SEC...WE should be on that line.
That's the thing...it's not an opinion. We're 3-1 against those 2.lolOpinions aside, Auburn was contending for the #1 OVERALL just a couple weeks ago. Auburn and UK simply started out way too far ahead of us.
I think we SHOULD be on the 2 line. But we are not going to end uo ahead of Auburn. And very likely UK.
If ours and Kentucky’s situations were reversed, there would be exactly 0 media/bracketologists arguing that Tennessee should be seeded ahead of Kentucky.
“Lol. They’ve beaten you twice and just won the SEC Tourney. How are you even arguing this?”
NET rankings disagree. As does KenPom. And every other prediction site to be found...If ours and Kentucky’s situations were reversed, there would be exactly 0 media/bracketologists arguing that Tennessee should be seeded ahead of Kentucky.

Auburn is ahead of us in what? The polls? They're not ahead of us in the NET rankings. They're not ahead of us in Kenpom. So what are they ahead of us in? And like I said, we beat KY 2 out of 3 times. I get what you're saying. We will get screwed. But trying to justify it is a bunch of horse ****. It just is. There is no justification. We SHOULD absolutely be the highest seeded SEC team.Opinions aside, Auburn was contending for the #1 OVERALL just a couple weeks ago. Auburn and UK simply started out way too far ahead of us.
