Just realized I've been on this forum for 15 years(!) as of this month. Some good times, some bad, some really funny moments. Mostly just finding ways to live through some challenging times on The Hill together. I actually made this account to post on here again, probably for March Madness, after my first account that I had got banned for dropping f-bombs all the time.

11,000 posts... Freak owns a lot of my brain. Probably doing a longitudinal study on some of us.

Anyway, cheers, folks. Go Vols!

That's not easy as it seems. Marina operators typically have clauses in their slip rental agreements that prohibit that kind of thing. I would definitely hit up some of the marinas. If you are looking at downtown, I'd start with Volunteer landing.

Thanks! That’s what I’ve found that it isn’t as easy as I’d hoped. We had a high priority client in last weekend and they mentioned wanting to get on the water and we couldn’t find anything last minute obviously but want to be prepared next time they’re in town so I’ve started searching for options.

Dude...team Nico wanted on the river and you couldn't pull it off? You are obviously not really Bruce Wayne.

Upon further research, series isn't quite so black and white. A "series of downs" is the original, literal definition of "series," which is what you quoted above. However, over time, people have started using the word series interchangeably with the word "drive" or "possession," which can include multiple series of downs and ends when possession changes. So by the book, you're right, a series originally meant a set of 4 downs that resets every time you get a first down; but in practice now, people use "series" to mean the entire possession. I'm a big fan of original definitions though, so I'm awarding you the point. Devo - 1, Jave - 0.
I can see that as well.

As with all things VN, idk I just work here.

I could see them eventually coming down to punishing for a "series of downs". A full drive would be better than the current non-rule too, but I bet there will be too much pushback. I'd even say 2-3 series of downs, up to the end of the drive, would be a fine middle ground. Literally anything beyond where we currently are would be better. It is just pathetic.

Applaud the hire. Experienced coach with ties throughout the south.

Kind of curious that he’s an offensive analyst when the all his history is on defense.
Scott Frost started out on defense. I'm aware of countless other examples...just not top of mind.

That could be one instance of a series (change of possession), but not exclusive. I'm thinking of a series vs a drive.

I've always used them interchangeably. Learn something new every day.

Keeping injured players out for either would still be a massive improvement to what's going on now.

If you are looking at a day cruise you can probably manage that with an individual. Last year I would have had the perfect person you could have called but he has since sold his boat and it has been moved off the river. Does it have to be on the river or can it be on another lake such as Norris?

Really any water in the greater Knoxville area. Norris would work, I think we could even go to Watts Bar for the right boat/experience.
