How so? Some of that concrete is 100 years old & remember that limestone caves dot the area. When Thompson-Boling was built they took great care in geological studies, planning & construction in order to avoid disaster. I love the old Neyland Stadium, too...lots of wonderful memories since attending my first game there in 1964.This Neyland remodel is a terrible idea. It’s going to keep screwing us
Eh, I went to an Orange and White game once as a student and I don’t think I’d ever go back unless my kid wanted to. Even watching it on SECN is pretty brutal.
The biggest reason I hate it is, it puts us under 100kHow so? Some of that concrete is 100 years old & remember that limestone caves dot the area. Well, hell, with that mindset, let’s just go get drunk in a food city parking lot once it warms up…Our crew goes EVERY year and it’s a perfect way to enjoy the spring weather, tailgate and just get together for a day. The game isn’t the draw for us, it’s the time we enjoy together tailgating and seeing Vols is just a little bonus!

YES - back in the 80s and 90s it was an "arms race" with fan bases and recruits. That mythical number of 100K in the stands meant a lot more to people then than it does now. It had an air of elitism to it that only a handful could claim. It’d all be a lot simpler if they hadn’t fudged the numbers and shrank the seats back in the 80s just for the sake of sheer numbers. It’s a 101k seat stadium in about a 90-95k seat footprint.
