I've been in and out most of today. Has anyone else outside of @Pepe_Silvia called for nuke strikes yet?

When are we putting boots on the ground? When do sanctions start?

Just trying to get up to speed on the latest panic porn from the neocons and neo-liberals.

Sergei Lavrov just said Ukraine does not have a right to sovereignty. Also Ukraine is considering breaking diplomatic relations with Russia.

Also please pray for my dad if your the praying type. He’s been in ICU at Vandy since Sunday with Covid. Tonight we got at call at 3 saying he has rapidly declined and was put on a ventilator.

Ukraine's defence minister, Oleksii Reznikov said today that Russia’s decision to recognise two self-proclaimed regions in eastern Ukraine means the Kremlin has taken another step towards the revival of the Soviet Union.

He said: The Kremlin has taken another step towards the revival of the Soviet Union. With the new Warsaw Pact and the new Berlin Wall."

Further complicating things, the two self-proclaimed “people’s republics” also claim the rest of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions as their territory, beyond where they already control. Whether this means Russian forces will attempt to push further into Ukraine, past the pre-existing front lines, is not yet known.

“Essentially, this represents a much less apocalyptic option than the kind of full-scale invasion the West has been predicting. However, the key question would be whether this means recognising the pseudo-states, which would be politically aggressive but not necessarily lead to wider war, or whether Moscow would assert that they have a right to all of the Donbas region, including government-held areas,” Galeotti added.

If the Russian congress adopts the position that ALL of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions belong to those currently occupying the breakaway regions, the probability of Russia invading and taking the rest of that land seems high.

Thank you. We all thought he was improving and they were talking about stepping in down from ICU. Then yesterday we get a call they had to put a feeding tube in and then tonight we get the call about the ventilator. I'm trying to remain strong an positive for my mom but I also know the odds of people coming off of them are less the 50% so I'm mentally trying to prepare for this.

Russian T-90 tanks v. Javelins. Guess we'll see if their defensive mods work or not. I'll put my money on the Javelins, although were not currently providing Ukraine with our most advanced version (and likely won't).

Between Javelins, fixed wing drones, quadcopters and other weapons, there's gonna be a whole lotta sh*t in the air at one time that Russian anti-aircraft will have to intercept. I wonder if Russia will begin its attack with a 'shock and awe' stage targeting Kyiv and military locations with their tactical missiles / bombs. If I were Ukraine, I'd be begging for an Iron Dome system ASAP.

Seems like an opportunity for the US to step in and guarantee LPN supplies... probably not great economics there to make it happen normally, but at these prices guessing it works. Next step, cut off NS1.
