Putin isn't in the exact same position as before. He now has Russian regular troops in the "independent republics" that he's now formally recognized within Ukraine.

I don't think Putin knows exactly what his next move is. Much like he did after 2014, I think he's made a move and is now assessing how the West responds. Much of this is a game to see how much he can get away with without having to endure a big cost. Invading and occupying Ukraine (especially that occupation part) would be a massive cost. The stuff about Ukraine from his speech today, while alarming, is stuff he's said for 20 years.

I don't know. The poster has Judy repeatedly posted articles from that organization and it seems odd to me the consistency of them siding with Putin.

My question and I apologize f it has already been discussed. Is this whole situation taking place if Trump is still president? I despise Biden but am not knowledgeable enough on the situation to know if Trump changes anything.

I looked up the origin of this expression just now, since it seemed (and still seems) to me plainly idolatrous. The entry at Wikipedia is informative: Glory to Ukraine - Wikipedia. Those posters for whom it is always 1939 will no doubt appreciate this expression's association with the Banderites . . .

For my part, I much prefer the Ukrainian greeting Слава Ісусу Христу (Glory to Jesus Christ). May He preserve the people of Ukraine from all harm and bring peace to the nations.

If you take the time to read it, you'll see that, whether or not you agree with the author, he can by no reasonable measure be said to "take Putin's position."
