I still handle 2 departments, but each one has different areas. Food service is the biggest and the most. Since this week, I’m now managing people that have no food service experience (manager types) and the arrogance not to want to listen from a ‘lowly cook’. My plan was to let them fall on their face while I just stood back and watched, they did, but I can’t unleash that mess on my residents. So I jumped into the fray. I will say I lost my temper a lot and thought I had finally done it. I’m gonna be walked out to the exit, lol. During all that, one of my teenage servers decided to throw a hissy fit during last night and walked out. She sent word to me today that she wanted to come back (gutless). I sent word to her to never show back up in my kitchen and she would never work for me again, and oh by the way, I will contact her teacher to let him know since he recommended her so he doesn’t put his name out there as a reference for her. Kids now days, I do not understand, but I hope she learns from this, but she needs to know there’s always consequences for your actions.
