To be even more fair, he can say that all day every day on his own platform without repercussions. I am not saying that I would make the same decision, but he doesn't have freedom from consequences with regard to his employer.

It wasn’t just the WNBA comments. He is the golf analyst and said…

“You know, the LPGA Tour to me is a completely different tour than it was 10 years ago. You couldn't pay me to watch, you really couldn't, because I just couldn't relate at all,” Lye said on SiriusXM's PGA Tour Radio.”

“It's kind of like, you know, if you're a basketball player, and I'm not trashing anybody so please don't take it the wrong way. But I saw some highlights of ladies’ basketball. Man, is there a gun in the house? I'll shoot myself than watch that.”

Basically the PGA tour analyst saying he can’t watch LPGA or women’s sports.

I dont agree with people getting fired for their comments air especially in the heat of the moment…give him a chance to clarify or clean it up. On the other side this is one of those times he shouldn’t have said his inside voice out loud. Part of his job is to draw more people into listening to him talk about golf and this certainly didn’t help.

And, some people confuse the different forms of free speech, i.e. hyperbole for literal intent, opinion for hate speech. Hyperbole is absolutely protected speech. Opinion is protected speech as well.

There should be no consequence for free speech. Guess some people have failed to learn what free expression is supposed to be. The forefathers intended to allow people to speak their minds, free from consequence from the powers that be. You know like, "screw the king and the horse he rode in on."

Absolutely. From the government. 100%.

Not from private parties. Never has been and never should be. You have contractual and employment law for all that.

Lol…I’m not getting into this with you. But any business owner has the freedom to do whatever they want as long as it’s not discriminatory. They have freedoms, too. Just don’t buy their products. The market corrects itself that way.

Everyone tends to confuse freedom of speech with freedom from consequences. The definition of freedom of speech is to express yourself without censorship, which he was freely able to do without being censored, however there are consequences to all our actions, good or bad. The consequences being, he was fired.

That's pretty much it. This wasn't cancel blahblah or social media pushed. He was fired 24 hours after it happened on a Sunday. He has an audience of women...sponsors....

I think it seems pretty fragile imo, but I'm not a sponsor or a boss having to answer those questions from the female listeners/subscribers on SiriusXM either.

On further estimates - and based off the lightness of the comment...just judging from his twitter history, I'd honestly be surprised if this was his first misstep. If anything, this comes off to me as a last reason to fire the guy that may have not been on great terms to begin with. Just my guess.

In short...play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Lose listeners and you can't expect to stick around long...you have literally one job...

That's not really political speech IMO. I don't know much about Sirius' business model, but maybe they think an opinion like that somehow damages their business. Whether that's fair or not would depend on how it affects their business and how they've responded to other strongly worded opinions about sports or entertainment. If his lawyers can come up with some good examples that he's being treated differently, he should have a civil case.

Whether that's fair or not would depend on how they've responded to other strongly worded opinions about sports or entertainment. If his lawyers can come up with some good examples that he's being treated differently, he should have a civil case.

Women's basketball is Terrible to watch. I've probably watched about 5 minutes of the Lady Vols the last 20 years, and I wished I had that 5 minutes back.

And I'm not hating on women. I enjoy watching the softball team

No. They can terminate him for any reason beyond race, religion, ethnicity, gender, etc. That is, discriminating against him.

You guys let emotions affect you too much. Does it suck? Yes. But it’s not illegal. Business owners can protect their business and investments in a wide-ranging manner, and it should be that way. Otherwise, business owners wouldn’t have freedoms to make their own decisions.

If I read it right earlier...

He was setting that part about the LPGA up, only to say in the next segment that he now likes the LPGA since he's been up close and personal to it more recently. Weird that he made it all about women's sports...yeah...but it did seem he ultimately defended the LPGA tour. Not sure why that was even necessary or a talking point to begin with, weird he'd be ranting about women's sports...but anyway in all fairness to him...

Kamara's crew failed him by not keeping him in the elevator while they handled the problem they thought that they needed to handle.

The report says that the right orbital bone and eye of the "victim" were wrecked. If he was knocked to the ground by Kamara's guys, and Kamara punched him on that side of his face while he was down, and there's video evidence of it, he's about to lose a ton of money.

Meh I’ve had an orbital fracture, it healed on its own no problems.

I'm not saying it does or doesn't damage their business, but that might be their claim. They might have to make that case and he could possibly use some of their other on air material against them in court.
