This is easily one of the best Tennessee sports articles I have ever read. Do yourself a favor and read about this amazing young man.

That’s a great article. He is an example of the positive things sports can do for people. I guarantee he’s gonna take full advantage of the opportunity he’s earned and not take it for granted like so many others do. It’s impossible not to pull for a guy like ZZ. I hope basketball will give him an opportunity for a better life for him and his family. He’s instant energy for the team when he comes in. I can see him being an all-time favorite by the time he graduates.

ZZ is a guy you love more and more as you learn about what he's gone through to get here. I hope he takes full advantage of 4 years here and gets a degree that will set him up for after basketball, hope he gets a legit shot to play professionally but even the best players still have a few decades of living to do once they hang 'em up.

I know that had something to do with it, but I just don't think those 70s era QBs were as talented at throwing the ball as the 80s era QBs onward. Like I said..I thought Terry was awesome until I saw guys like Marino and Montana etc etc etc show up.
So no one was talented until the 80’s? Noted.

You do know Montana played his college and was drafted in the 70’s?

Come on now, McGill didn't say "no one was talented" why try to stir an argument over YOU changing what he said? I also don't think the 70s era QBs were as talented at throwing as the 80s era QBs and onward.

I think there were still plenty of talented players in the 70s and before though. Some of those WRs of the 60s and 70s with some of the QBs of the 80s, 90s, and 2000s would have had even more impressive careers. Lynn Swann with Big Ben able to hit him anywhere on the field? Drew Pearson with Dak tossing him the rock, or a guy like Gale Sayers in today's game? If anything I'd say the pass catchers specifically of the early era of football were hamstrung a bit by less talented throwing from QBs.

And the fact that the game wasn't officiated in their favor

You take Jim Plunkett and remove the time he had to run the triple option for Chuck Fairbanks Patriots and muddle around in pre-Walsh San Francisco and we can have an honest discussion. Since that’s impossible…we won’t. Never going to convince me that Johnny Unitas with modern passing concepts and physical training doesn’t hold serve. Archie Manning with anything close to what either of his sons had in concepts instead of running around and throwing long? Going by NUMBERS with entirely different games is an exercise in futility.
