Alabama got so lucky Saban fell into their laps when he did all the admins did was just get out of his way…but I wouldn’t call what they did great by any means more like “lucky”
Saban was smart enough to ask for complete control. Mal Moore was savvy enough to deliver it to him.

Every (successful) coach has asked for control since. It's commonplace now.

Saban laid out the modern blueprint that every other coach follows now, or attempts to follow.

It’s 50/50. I believe the percentage of success is literally almost 50% and that’s at the 2 yard line. The thinking is you try again when you score another TD if you miss the first one.
I did check and the rate is 49.6. That is an improvement over a few years ago. I do understand the thinking, but there is a little problem with that. The first problem is that what if you don't score another TD. As happened to the Titans. That point is gone. Also, if you do score another TD, and kick it both times, the chance that both will be good is a little above 85 (based upon a 92.5% success rate through week 14). If you try two points twice, the chance of missing both is 25.4 and I think that means that you should hit at least one 74.6 % of the time, which is less than 85. So, in my opinion, you should still kick it.

A part of me would love to see the Bengals win it all, but outside of the Titans, I’ve always pulled for the NFL team with the most contributing VFL. So 49ers or KC for me.
I feel like buffalo fans have put in their due diligence to deserve a super bowl. They've got my vote.

Saban's break through was that he realized that if he had beaten bammer a second time in a row while at LSU, he would have been put on probation.

I have said for years that college football is headed down the same path. This NIL stuff will hasten its demise. When they began relying on TV money, the fans got the bad end of the deal. NASCAR thought they could live without real fans and CFB is on its way there as well.
the dude who loaded up his wife and neighbord and camped outside all weekend aint got time for all that.

Bristol race is half of what it used to be.

Kinda random but how different would all our lives be had alabama hired rich Rodriguez instead of saban.

Or if Mack brown didn’t block saban from taking the Texas job when he retired.

Man I can’t wait for the streak to end.
I think along those lines but mine is more like "How much different would my life have been if I was born into a wealthy family". I could have helped buy much better players for Tennessee. Oh well, there's always the next life :):)

It’s a mute point either way in a 3 point win, Mehrable or whatever ppl call him has stabilized the football team after sucking for years so he gets a pass in my mind. He needs a new OC and we might need to draft a future QB to play backup for a year that much is apparent. I do like Kenny Pickett a lot so hopefully we make a play at him, the other QBs are not worth jmo

Pickett has really poor pocket presents though

Titans don't have a 2nd round pick (as of now) but I like the Western Ky QB in the 3rd or 4th round.

His arm is deadly accurate though…what QB would you pick from the draft? I just don’t see it for other QB’s in this draft maybe Matt corral has better instincts in the pocket but I question his body holding up for a whole season

Alabama football is like Kentucky basketball….. they will always rise back near/to the top bc that is their number one focus…. It’s not clouded by any other issue…… Landing Saban pushed it over the top.
