Recruiting Forum Football Talk IV

Re McGill, it used to be fairly often and particularly after he shared some of his more passionate opinions. Don’t see those folks around as often anymore.

On the bolded, I anticipate - or at least hope - most folks share this perspective on the board. We’re here to talk about college football - not win hearts and minds.

Obligatory Edit: except for @Jackcrevol - he clearly wants us all to be communists.
Or at least socialists. Anything to bring to all of us the peace and tranquility of Portland, Oregon.

Supercuts was spreading lies on here and logging onto VQ under bucks account and spreading lies.

12/19 is when AP reached out to Buck and tried to reach out to Supercuts about his lies. Supercuts posted APs phone number.

12/19 is the last date Supercuts has been on.

Reason? Buck told Supercuts to stop with the internet shenanigans/lies/trolling.
Good grief!!!!!

I saw an interview with one of the Spyre guys and the one thing he said that stuck out to me was, and I'm paraphrasing: Tennessee doesn't have 25 donors willing to donate $1 Million to the NIL program for Tennessee, which is why they are working to recruit the regular working guy/gal, like myself, to join their group and donate to the NIL for Tennessee. That tells me the Big $$$ donors are not going to fund NIL, that according to Spyre, and maybe it's just their marketing strategy to get things going, they want to engage as many UT fans as possible to join in on the NIL and raise money in an almost grassroots kind of way. I know for a fact the Spyre gentlemen made the statement about the 25 donors not being willing to donate $1 Million for NIL, because that was surprising to me. I know I'm stating the obvious, but in this new world of college athletics with NIL, transfer portal, etc. I would think think the Big $$$ schools like Texas, A&M, etc. have a huge advantage, if it's just really about paying players, in any and all sports, not just football. Also, the NIL, and we all know this, won't just been a one year deal, it will be an ongoing yearly situation, that will require donations to that program and an annual commitment on the part of donors who choose to donate to the Vols NIL program. I don't post a lot on here but just thought I would share what I had heard directly from the Spyre individual.

The $1 million donors though may still be donating to the university. The schools are always going to be in an arms race and can’t just drop all of their donations.

So, in order to make this work, you have to tap into other donors who are willing to pony up. UT is a great place because the fan base is huge. Tap into those who aren’t already donating and keep the wealthy ones, and you’ve got NIL money and money to improve the program.

Just saw where Travis Dye is transferring to USC. Lincoln Riley is building a team, or at least an offense. They've already added WR Mario Williams. If they add Caleb Williams as some suspect they will, they should make some waves in the PAC 12 this season. We make fun of how weak that conference is, but USC can be a real juggernaut when they're rolling. All that California talent and no real competition for it when they're good.

Sidenote - I'm glad Dye is staying out West, but he's a player I would have loved to have gotten. Strong runner and a pass catching threat out of the backfield, that kid could eat in an offense like Heupel's.
Yes. Would love to see USC strong again. We need fresh blood.

Hi @engineerVOL, I would suggest an ER visit. I have had three blood clots in my lower leg and your symptoms are similar to what I experienced. They put me on Eliquis, which has worked great for me. Unfortunately, I will have to take it forever.

Edit: after each of the first two clots, the doctor decided not to continue the meds after the initial dosing regimen (6mos), but the third clot left us no choice.
That’s what happened to me. Finally just kept me on them.

Who has attacked McGill's faith on here? Can't say I've seen that. And I wasn't just "asked to stop repeating myself". Some personal attacks were made, and I responded. But you keep believing what you want to believe, and I'll believe what I believe. As the old saying goes, "don't start nothin' won't be nothin'".

I did not personally attack you. Come on man.

dont blame you friend.

hope you're feeling better. btw.

Doing a lot better. Thank you for saying so. It was rough. Most think it was Delta and having it start while on vacation and barely getting home did not help. I finally went to work this past week. Started a couple of hours then 4 and got in a full day Friday on what was day 15. I lost 15 pounds but never want to do that again. Just thanking God that I am still here and doing better finally. God is good.

I spoke with my rep and will be making my annual donation soon. But if these guys like Banks hit the portal for more money, I am out. I love the Vols but the main reason I go to these games is to make memories with my son who is in high school. Why should my hard money go to this crap if players are just going to leave because it is all about the money. Why should we be loyal to them if they are just mercenaries like the coaches. I am really getting jaded when I hear guys we have helped who would not have careers and have represented the University poorly want to leave because the money is not enough. My son and I talked it over. 50 yard line west side seats or not will be coming available if these guys like Banks do what they do. And I will not support it any longer. I am about to the breaking point with this crap and McGill is right. Paying five figure donations is not worth it.
I can’t afford to donate, but doubt I will go to another game. If it continues may not even watch. The fun is gone.

If players like Banks are entering the portal, remove him from the roster and let him attempt to get a NIL from anyone anywhere. There are other players on the roster and recruited who will play better than he has played at Tennessee. It would be a waste of time @nd money to even think about giving him a NIL based on how he has played so far. Great example of the problems we will see in the future of College sports unless this NIL adventure installs some guidelines which will protect Universities from this insane attempt to pay every player who still believes he/ she can hold schools at hostage

Clients of mine, know how legit Delta is/was. Same song and dance. Really hate to hear. Hope people will take precautions.

Take care.

You’ve forum quit a number of times and keep coming back. I’m sure you’ll call the rep back and get your tickets once you calmed down.

I've never gave my tickets back. You still have a reading comprehension issue. You are not a smart man. However, I am tired of donating with what I am seeing. I said I love the Vols but never said I would quit them or the forum. May just watch from my man cave instead of paying thousands to go. Also, only able to go to Arizona game for basketball. Been giving tickets away or selling them. I am not renewing basketball again. Just don't have time for it and with the new extra donation level where football doesn't count for basketball, I am moving on. I just have not paid them yet and will wait a little longer before I do.
