I saw an interview with one of the Spyre guys and the one thing he said that stuck out to me was, and I'm paraphrasing: Tennessee doesn't have 25 donors willing to donate $1 Million to the NIL program for Tennessee, which is why they are working to recruit the regular working guy/gal, like myself, to join their group and donate to the NIL for Tennessee. That tells me the Big $$$ donors are not going to fund NIL, that according to Spyre, and maybe it's just their marketing strategy to get things going, they want to engage as many UT fans as possible to join in on the NIL and raise money in an almost grassroots kind of way. I know for a fact the Spyre gentlemen made the statement about the 25 donors not being willing to donate $1 Million for NIL, because that was surprising to me. I know I'm stating the obvious, but in this new world of college athletics with NIL, transfer portal, etc. I would think think the Big $$$ schools like Texas, A&M, etc. have a huge advantage, if it's just really about paying players, in any and all sports, not just football. Also, the NIL, and we all know this, won't just been a one year deal, it will be an ongoing yearly situation, that will require donations to that program and an annual commitment on the part of donors who choose to donate to the Vols NIL program. I don't post a lot on here but just thought I would share what I had heard directly from the Spyre individual.
